Humanity Rising Day 700 After Chat   –   Thursday May 18, 2023

Chat from AfterChat Zoom from HR Day 700:

aka ChatPeople Chat

...

00:04:37    Stanley Pokras:    This is the AfterChat for Humanity Rising Day 700

00:05:04    Stanley Pokras:    Welcome to our friend David Stoney!

00:06:29    Kat Haber:    Are Russian forests then inducing fires in Alaska?

00:07:37    Kat Haber:    As Russia burns leads to more burning in Alaska if the winds are moving in this direction? Love Atosa! She is part of Artists for Amazonia.

00:08:01    Kat Haber:    What role do you feel particulates are playing in climate?

00:08:03    Kurt Krueger, PeaceMakers Circles/Network:    PLEASE, check out the efforts of the UNIVERSAL FOUNDATION FOR HOLISTIC DESIGN.They are an educational re-enculturation processes teem. It is a Socio-Economical/environmental/spiritual transition plan to get us back as nature. ::https://www.ufhd.ca::.

“With nature’s help, humankind can set into creation all that is necessary and life-sustaining.” ~ Hildegard of Bingen

00:08:06    Stanley Pokras:    Welcome to Rob de Leet - thank you for organizing these three days and your significant previous participation in Humanity Rising which can be seen here ::https://othernetworks.org/Rob_de_Laet::

00:09:52    Stanley Pokras:    Marcel de Berg has also contributed to both Humanity Rising and the AfterChat’s Deep Dive ::https://othernetworks.org/Marcel_de_Berg::

00:10:43    Kurt Krueger, PeaceMakers Circles/Network:    Forest fire particulates

00:11:58    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    If you are not speaking, please turn off your mic. Thank you so much.

00:13:05    David Stoney:    Thanks to Marcel for mentioning the aerosol effect.  Stopping fossil fuel burning will leas to an increase in global temperature because more solar energy will reach

00:13:23    David Stoney:    The earth’s surface.

00:15:01    Kat Haber:    Water vapor molecule in vapor phase returning to water droplet phase must return to surface, Hydrogen bond being made, cloud condensation leads to stronger clouds, elements in Cloud geo engineering. Lead to destroying biotic pump even more, ff selects sunlight, climate scientists are thinking of reusing temp  what kind of dust and aerosol, organic aerosols how they are forming hydrogen bonds, phase change-leads to radiation, caused by kinetic energy, with infrared red radiation, Marcel de berg, When H bond is formed, Tartachenko in 70’s calculate when energy is released, Markayeva, phase change leads to kinetic energy but in earl phase > infrared radiation, depending on how much organic aerosols are in air, if above a certain level with not water vapor, with little organic aerosols, infrared radiation will be absorbed Dust is not a simple answer.

00:17:02    Kat Haber:    Thanks so very much, ROB!

00:17:30    Kurt Krueger, PeaceMakers Circles/Network:    Experience utilizing Biomimicry to guide us to our inherent Nature. Imagine our body blending as nature. No longer learning from nature's example/guidance but being Nature. Automatically following INspiration, INtuition… Explore with us in this deep dive into full authenticity as the unique ‘snowflake’ we truly are. Come with us in this adventure of re-enculteration.

This program offers both an intellectual understanding and direct experience of biomimicry in its fullness ~ From INside Out. Journey in the curiosity of SHOW ME the highest expression of this moment.

00:17:46    Kat Haber:    Does anyone have a working link to the Week event that was mentioned early in HR this morning please?

00:17:58    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    Yup…

00:18:09    Stanley Pokras:    An important talk about how agriculture affects our climate is The Other Inconvenient Truth - Jonathan Foley ::https://othernetworks.org/The_Other_Inconvenient_Truth_-_Jonathan_Foley::

00:18:11    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    ::https://www.theweek.ooo/::

00:19:27    Kat Haber:    The West Coast of USA need fire to break open certain seeds. Indigenous have been advocating for periodic fires on the coast to save the forest is hindered because humans have paid large sums to build big houses on the coast. So we lack the conditions for a healthy coastal zone there.

00:20:05    Stanley Pokras:    The largest organization I know working on climate via Regeneration is Global Regeneration CoLab (GRC) ::https://othernetworks.org/Global_Regeneration_CoLab_(GRC)::

00:22:13    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    ::https://www.facebook.com/groups/greenearthcity/permalink/10160502580054371/::

00:23:03    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    That’s Campo Alegre's Conservation area under dire threat:  18,500 acres of vital land that includes one of the sacred headwaters of the Brazilian Amazon.  This is a crucial ecosystem with a vibrant biodiversity,  Researchers have seen averages of  50- 80 Brazilian Mergansers calling Campo Alegre home. There are only some 250 species left on the planet.

Campo Alegre will be auctioned off end of May unless we do something now. Please help save it!

00:23:12    Stanley Pokras:    The Week is associated with the Global Generation CoLab . The Week is a group experience to help us see what’s coming and what we can do about it. Join fellow travellers at Greaterthan, Global Regeneration CoLab and Permaculture Colab and take the journey together!

00:23:32    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    Thanks, Stan!

00:24:19    Stanley Pokras:    The Week… ::https://www.theweek.ooo/::

00:29:16    David Stoney:    Marcel, speaking of “proper forests” I wonder about how forests that are almost monocultures of one type of tree, e.g., pine trees here in the southeast, compare to diversified forests in their contribution the biotic pump?

00:29:56    Stanley Pokras:    Marcel’s assertion about eating meat is supported in part here… ::https://othernetworks.org/How_to_green_the_world%27s_deserts_and_reverse_climate_change_-_Allan_Savory:: This is a TED Talk video featuring Allan Savory

"Desertification is a fancy word for land that is turning to desert," begins Allan Savory in this quietly powerful talk. And terrifyingly, it's happening to about two-thirds of the world's grasslands, accelerating climate change and causing traditional grazing societies to descend into social chaos. Savory has devoted his life to stopping it. He now believes -- and his work so far shows -- that a surprising factor can protect grasslands and even reclaim degraded land that was once desert.

00:30:50    Marcel de Berg:    Monoculture forest don't have healthy soil and therefore don't produce the organic aerosoles we need.

00:31:42    Kurt Krueger, PeaceMakers Circles/Network:    ELI KLEIN presents some info on this program. The Intersection of Action, Agency and Impact, ::https://youtu.be/jJz1OPCLK1w:: Kim Conrads, Eli Klien, Hugo Araujo, Malini Rajendran, David Pinto, Glen Martin, Raheen Fatima, Jen Forti, Kathryn Alexander. Day 198.

00:33:50    Stanley Pokras:    Thanks, Kurt here’s a link to Day 198… ::https://othernetworks.org/HR!Day198::

00:34:00    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    Thank you Kurt, that program (::https://othernetworks.org/HR!Day198::) was part of a whole week of presentations.

00:34:25    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    Stan, we go in the same direction!

00:34:41    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    HR!Day198 - The Intersection of Action, Agency and Impact

00:36:38    Stanley Pokras:    Marcel, perhaps you could write a book to be titled “The Regret Theory of Human Society”

00:36:58    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    2 birds with one stone.

00:41:04    Kurt Krueger, PeaceMakers Circles/Network:    David. So happy to CU back you look good for going through so much. 🙂

00:41:19    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    “Minimizing regrets” is a useful method of making decisions. I appreciate the description and application to our dilemma.

00:43:45    Shannon McArthur (she/her):    Shelter belts

00:46:03    Stanley Pokras:    Marcel… Kurt is inviting you to meet Eli of the Universal Foundation for Holistic Design (UFHD) ::https://othernetworks.org/Universal_Foundation_for_Holistic_Design_(UFHD)::

00:46:36    Marcel de Berg:    I see it

00:47:06    Gaia Lamb:    Marvelous Program.  Inspiring and hopefull!!!

00:47:08    Marcel de Berg:    But perhaps can you send me the log of this chat for follow up

00:47:23    Kurt Krueger, PeaceMakers Circles/Network:    What is your email marcel?

00:47:33    Marcel de Berg:    my email connect@marceldeberg.nl

00:48:47    Stanley Pokras:    Marcel - look for messages from [ChatPeople]

Agroforestry: Principles and Practice

an introduction to agroforestry and food forests

Agroforestry is the intentional integration of trees and shrubs into crop and animal farming systems to create environmental, economic, and social benefits. And just as farming systems take many shapes and forms, the same is true of agroforestry.

Tonight's compilation of 4 videos introduces the concept of agroforestry, its historical roots and some fundamental principles.

The practices of alley cropping, silvopasture, forest farming, windbreaks, riparian forest buffers, and urban food forests are discussed.

01:00:11    David Stoney:    Isn’t the fundamental problem that there are too many people consuming the living planet in the process of staying alive?  And, that being the case, isn’t the ultimate solution to reduce human population in a major way?  Gaia seems to be permitting us to accomplish this by our own actions in creating uncontrollable global warming.
