In order to regenerate the planet at the speed and scale needed to avert complete collapse of human societies, we will need to strategically restore nature or nature like food production in an area the size of China or the US with a large focus on the hot areas of the world as the impacts are felt fastest there both locally and have the greatest impact on the Earth’s climate system.
First we will talk about a list of strategic ecosystem restoration projects and then about the tools needed to make it happen at this scale, supported by finance and technology.
The last point we will discuss here is the involvement of people everywhere, a global regeneration movement that empowers everyone to be part of the solution. It is important to understand the polycrisis as a real crisis of life at all levels, from environment to spiritual, from economic and political to devastating suffering around the world and the destruction of biodiversity. Regenerating the planet regenerates people’s hearts and minds while they are working actively with their hands and other tools to shape that beautiful future that lives deep inside all of and that wants to emerge from the ashes of our era we leave behind, which brought us far but also at the edge of the abyss.

- Peter Bruce-Iri from Aotearoa (New Zealand) is an educator, author, researcher and climate activist. He is the author of the book.
