10:54:20 From Kateryna Yasko  to Host and Panelists:
00:07:51    Dr.Barbara Leger:    our work in Ukraine is planting today for our lives and nation tomorrow - curriculum is partially based on non violent communication and values based living        in public school curriculum called The Understanding PEACE Project and seeding a new mindset with freedom, responsibility, creativity and over 100 words that are stepping stones of peace and possibility by both seeing the importance of planting what you want to live with and support.    so power of conscious   choice, acknowledging the opposites and choice what feels more constructive and then support to learn how to cultivate a heart at peace and possibility and find new ways to settle our differences and relieve us of automatic judgment and blame and encourage self-awareness, curiosity, respect and the power of conscious breathing instead of reacting.

00:28:52    Kat Haber:    Peace & Climate movements have been happening for decades behind the scenes. Neither of these generate $. In  capitalistic global economy, it is difficult to get the attention of those struggling to survive.

great to see you with us today dear Katya - thank you for taking this challenge and opportunity for us all to better understand the reality in Ukraine
00:32:54    Leo Jacoby:    Links file for today

11:13:22 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
00:32:58    Kat Haber:    Good questions!

Welcome Kateryna. Thank you for joining us in the AfterChat on Monday, and for bringing Valerii. I treasure the opportunity to see a bit into the minds of the people of the Ukraine.
00:35:28    Dr.Barbara Leger:    it won't change until we engage with it all - i.e. see it is possible for the government/media or whoever we see as the blocks-to be part of the solution.                  if we engage in it in all the phases of democracy -                 if we feel it is too late it is.... I plant non violent seeds of peace working in public school with sharing the humanistic values and using their opposites to feel and sense where we want to live.

00:46:34    Paul Flansburg:    Is he saying “let Russia lose” by giving ukraine weapons?

               Passcode: 919541
00:48:18    kathryn davison:    Really good point, Barbara, and I see now that sometimes I get ‘exercised’ about these things b/c I never had a forum to simply say that and ask the question, ‘why?’

                            ..oOo..
00:48:23    Paul Flansburg:    China seems closest to producing what does not destroy, yes? I mean, between super powers?

11:20:58 From Paul Flansburg to Everyone:
00:51:03    Kat Haber:    @Paul I’ve just spent last week with a few Chinese at high levels in policy and business. I am looking more deeply into a broader overview…beyond the us/them mindset.

   Russia’s backward, but Ukraine isn’t?
00:53:15    Paul Flansburg:    I asked sincerely before. What do people disagree with regarding what I’ve been saying in comments?

11:21:43 From Kateryna Yasko  to Everyone:
00:54:38    Dr.Barbara Leger:    great handout Kat

Paul, Auke’s Monday presentation addressed exactly that question
00:55:41    Paul Flansburg:    Right @Stanley Pokras, movements can command press coverage. The thing is press disallows movements when they begin.

11:22:07 From Auke van Nimwegen to Everyone:
00:57:02    diana:    Paul, in Terms of your comments being taken negatively, I think it's the attitude of "only two sides".  Antagonism. Taking comments defensively and not as Points of discussion

@Paul, not backward but looking to the past. Russia has stronger purple/red values, less blue/orange/green compared to Ukraine
00:57:55    Dr.Barbara Leger:    Paul 0 do you know Charles Betterton - he is working with this biggest view of possibility with China

11:23:03 From Marilyn Schramm to Everyone:
01:00:19    Paul Flansburg:    Diana, Gorbachev was upheld by Sachs. His influence, didn’t he allow perestroika to progress? Our speaker seemed more critical.

11:23:18 From Paul Flansburg to Host and Panelists:
01:02:17    Paul Flansburg:    “Creativity” vs propaganda. We have to identify propaganda, don’t we? Someone was advocating for this, yes?

   Now China’s bad too?
01:04:53    Paul Flansburg:    In Peru, during liberation theology fight, there was an effort to fight the “non-person” identity with the identity as one from a collective. I recall his from a maryknoll priest, anyway.

why is it difficult to understand the use of violence in the context of self-defense/self-preservation? who would not fight an aggressor to defend their own life or that of their loved ones?

11:52:45 From Kurt Krueger, PeaceMakers Circles/Network to Everyone:

YES, AFTER MEDITATING, in that state of mind take all necessary actions. Meditation is a vaccine that anyone can take to cure humans inhumanity to others ~

To be fully effective, this gets to be done periodically through the day, until well practiced to work. Here’s a 15 minute video describing PeaceMaker Meditation. <nowiki>https://youtu.be/vv1VxDv80wo</nowiki>  Peace IN Everything, Everything WITH Peace. will reverberate throughout your day… This ‘mantra’ is used in your HOME language. Then Law of Predominant Mental Impression makes it the focus thus attracting more peace to you and ‘others.’

A few scientifically proven benefits that meditation also gives: stress/trauma reduction, improved performance in sports and elsewhere, increased mental and physical health.

12:09:07 From Andre Sheldon to Everyone:

   Hello Tom,

   Namaste!  MIR!

Valerii said we need to create a sustainable peace!  I humbly submit that Gandhi and King lived and died to teach us nonviolence is the answer and therefore propose a Global Movement of Nonviolence ( a people movement – an EMERGENCY PLAN) to stop the war in Ukraine and establish trust and respect among nations and people.  The world needs it now!

The plan is ready now and would be led by WOMEN, the best representatives of nonviolence possible!  According to deceased U.S historian and peace activist Howard Zinn, “no doubt women represent nonviolence best!”  This is designed to be different!

As Kateryna stated, to resolve the crisis, the intricacies are complex, but there is simplicity in setting the movement in motion.   The world must unite under one umbrella.

The "taking two sides" comment is coming from a good intention, but lacking a differentiated understanding of the actual qualitative differences between these two sides, their situation and their action logics...

Women must take the World Stage!

12:15:22 From Valerii Pekar to Everyone:

The non-violence approach is practiced now by colonized peoples of Russia, especially the Buddhist ones (Buryats, Kalmyks, etc.). They are now practically being genocided by Putin regime. There is a risk that these peoples will cease to exist.

12:16:49 From Paul Flansburg to Everyone:

Send me a link about violence against Buddhists?

12:17:39 From Andre Sheldon to Everyone:

In Iran, the women protested across the whole country.  For women to rise up in Russia and Ukraine, they must see the whole world is participating and supportive!  Please ask me about the marketing plan that is designed to capture and KEEP the attention of the media!

What if playing a simple game with 5 to 8 people in your community (or perhaps even online) could lead to greater individual, community, and global peace?

And what if playing that game would also generate meaningful individual and collective benefits as a result of the specific ACTIONS participants take during the 7 activities as John Perkins so frequently encourages?

The whole world is waiting for something good to happen.  If women promote nonviolence and promote working together for humanity, it will change the world!

Martin Luther King wrote, “Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time; the need for mankind to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence.  Mankind must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation.

The Power is from Nonviolence and Women together - everywhere.

If women do not rise-up, there will be no change.

12:30:59 From Olga Karatch to Host and Panelists:

@Paul, you are right, especially about depleted uranium. But my opinion the strategy must be developed including the support men who doesn not want to go to the army. About Belarus. Yes, but not to bring peace but it was no support of peacebuilding activities. It is true

I don't think we should be optimistic about the values underpinning the US military. Look at what their think tanks are talking about. They see the mind as the battlefield.

we need listening circles  for how to be ..i.e. only for peace when another country has one aim which is to destroy the culture and the country or could peace hold self  defense    or is letting someone destroy us a peaceful thing???                         and how .there is a great term in Ukraine for a  moment of cardinal change - a turning point - and do the best in this moment - and this is the moment

12:38:53 From Stan Pokras to Everyone:

It’s sad to see that the “peace movement” is not active. One way to revive a movement for peace is to reinstitute the draft. That would get the attention of young people.

12:39:05 From Valerii Pekar to Everyone:

The 3rd week of July (which is now) is a regular Captive Nations Week for many years. You can see demonstrations of colonized nations of Russia in New York and some other cities.

12:39:41 From Stan Pokras to Everyone:

Diana, I only know how people in the U.S. feel. Here there is nothing motivating young people to examine their opinions on peace or war. It’s just an invisible issue.

12:42:52 From diana Winhill to Everyone:

   QUESTION

   Namaste!

The world must unite under one umbrella -- NONVIOLENCE.

The plan is one last step away from beginning.  Would anyone on the panel support it and help to set the last step in motion?  There are many segments of the plan.  Please ask me about U.N. Sec-General Guterres.

   Thank you.

aka ChatPeople Chat

...

00:05:49    diana:    André!!   HR Day 707 29 May 2023 Urgent Call to Mothers & Grandmothers:  War Stops Now.       (and Daughters!!)

00:07:16    diana:    You can find it on YouTube. Or Stan's Collection of HR

00:08:56    Stanley Pokras:    This is the AfterChat for Day 744

Please ask me about Beatrice Fihn.  I believe she is the most Powerful Peace Activist in the World!

00:22:58    Leo Jacoby:    Beatrice Fihn is a Swedish lawyer. She was the Executive Director of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons from 2014 to 1 February 2023. Wikipedia

00:23:40    Kat Haber:    I am a great grandmother. YEs, bring in the wisdom of the elder women who have brought life into life.

They document war crimes, human rights abuses and the abuse of power.)

00:25:46    Kat Haber:    COLLABORATION is a muscle that shemanity can offer our communities.

00:28:28    Leo Jacoby:    >  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAvQTgP7kZ8 (58:58 Nobel Peace Prize Winner: Beatrice Fihn | Full Q&A | Oxford Union)

00:28:52    Kat Haber:    Peace & Climate movements have been happening for decades behind the scenes. Neither of these generate $. In  capitalistic global economy, it is difficult to get the attention of those struggling to survive.

00:32:54    Leo Jacoby:    Links file for today

00:32:58    Kat Haber:    Good questions!

00:38:13    kathryn davison:    BTW I drive a gasoline-powered car still, so — fully cognizant of my ‘participant observer’ part in this collective dilemma.

00:39:07    Kat Haber:    Multitudes of perspectives-many chaotic, insane, traumatized…

00:39:22    Kat Haber:    I am quite aware.

00:44:02    diana:    Kathryn : "BTW I drive a gasoline-powered car still, so — fully cognizant of my ‘participant observer’ part in this collective dilemma." 👍  This whole Thing with electricity :-(  :-(  :-(

00:44:15    Kat Haber:    Good things are underway…& we are distracted by war at a moment we need to be focused working together to address the Xistential threat of climate that is right now blinking out half of the world’s species. We are part of that circle…

00:46:34    Paul Flansburg:    Is he saying “let Russia lose” by giving ukraine weapons?

00:48:18    kathryn davison:    Really good point, Barbara, and I see now that sometimes I get ‘exercised’ about these things b/c I never had a forum to simply say that and ask the question, ‘why?’

00:48:23    Paul Flansburg:    China seems closest to producing what does not destroy, yes? I mean, between super powers?

00:51:03    Kat Haber:    @Paul I’ve just spent last week with a few Chinese at high levels in policy and business. I am looking more deeply into a broader overview…beyond the us/them mindset.

00:53:15    Paul Flansburg:    I asked sincerely before. What do people disagree with regarding what I’ve been saying in comments?

00:54:38    Dr.Barbara Leger:    great handout Kat

00:55:41    Paul Flansburg:    Right @Stanley Pokras, movements can command press coverage. The thing is press disallows movements when they begin.

00:57:02    diana:    Paul, in Terms of your comments being taken negatively, I think it's the attitude of "only two sides".  Antagonism. Taking comments defensively and not as Points of discussion

00:57:55    Dr.Barbara Leger:    Paul 0 do you know Charles Betterton - he is working with this biggest view of possibility with China

01:00:19    Paul Flansburg:    Diana, Gorbachev was upheld by Sachs. His influence, didn’t he allow perestroika to progress? Our speaker seemed more critical.

01:00:23    Dr.Barbara Leger:    And I call New Dimensions The Library of Consciousness www.newdimensions.org

01:02:17    Paul Flansburg:    “Creativity” vs propaganda. We have to identify propaganda, don’t we? Someone was advocating for this, yes?

01:04:53    Paul Flansburg:    In Peru, during liberation theology fight, there was an effort to fight the “non-person” identity with the identity as one from a collective. I recall his from a maryknoll priest, anyway.

01:06:18    kathryn davison:    Replying to "In Peru, during libe..."

👏🏼

01:09:08    Paul Flansburg:    I gotta go soon

01:09:23    Dr.Barbara Leger:    bye paul

01:09:26    Dr.Barbara Leger:    :)
