Is world shaping and we become. Not correct about old stories are crumbling. We say hallelujah, There is a new story, not really new, always available, wWE BELONG TO THE WEB OF LIFE. WE are not separate, ecosystems, relationships, creativity (WE BELONG TO EACH OTHER.) New story grounded in dynamics of life itself (GAIA-JG) Science needs to change its mind with new story, How do we take these principles of life translated into human system life generating, seed/spark to broader audience, how we learn/work/live. SOFT? focus on thoughtful strategies, YES. go back to something comforting? certitude is seductive, sense of how long humanity has struggled, wrestled for a new story, Australian Outback: Come and spend a week with drs, healers, aboriginal tribe, nonlinearity ways of life, for new millennium, live with Aboriginal elders, 80,000 year wise culture, invited Western woman leader to concrete a new sustainable story for the millennium, ancestors lonely/hungry/sung stories they sang below the ground, songlines

SC: “Nature listening and speaking to itself.” - JG initially in search of essential learning environment A-C-G-T- optimal conditions in which people learn/grow, design principles of natural world, Lee and Sam had to be led by Stephanie there, once tracking this path, no going back, work that we do as a studio, design schools, also creative storytelling, change the way we think about learning, How do we set the conditions to create the greatest likelihood of the stories under which we live/learn to bring a new world into being? each intro essay: identity, to eco tissue of bihemispheric nature of brain to James Baldwin about American identity interwoven in slavery: white/black identities, bread crumb trail of wisdom/ideas, to frijol Capra, to artists to scientists, ubiquity of principles, even if implicit, how do we make these principles Explicit? How do we think about physical design?

Structural needs may be beyond our ability to change, infant of us create a connectedness of living systems, holding question in terms of little/young people, going outside, what if the tree were related, what would you ask them, increasing ages ask them, why is it called a pod, let’s call it a biological research pond, create a sensibility that we are inextricably connected to Earth when we are now so far removed, put kids in nature with relationship, plant, Academy of Global Relationship, developing capacity for interconnectedness, SC: Cities kids living in a world where they do not see nature, Academy  love of self/others/nature, in an industrial section of city, converted dentists office at first now a converted barrel factory, collecting rainwater/chickens but has limits to what can be done in this former industrial site, not 6 acres abandoned in the city for future school

SC: global group and transcends people who work in education, adults with young people, what feels like the most important thing to convey to adults in the ways we interact with children? What does it take to liberate the goodness/genius and ignited human creativity for the world? The how locks off the possibility, restricts to strategy and process, If we want to It was initially depressing to hear people say, “Do you really believe that?” That within each child there is goodness/genius, respond means this is my current thinking, Horse whisperer: metaphor for becoming child whisperers, don’t bully. punish/control/cajole instead discern, connect translated into child whisperer teaching autistic spychophrenic children, put her hands on his face, gently rubbing his face, quietly keeping eye contact, from hyperactivity to respond to her mom, bring children alive, RESPONSE: believe that within each child there is inherent goodness/genius, what will it take to adapt to each child, deeper than personalized learning,

May 22, 2020 original session Copernican revolution of our time, equal magnitude to Earth is flat to Earth is round, cuircumnavigating, Homo sapiens are one with nature, a little virus from nature stopped everything we are doing: lockdown, sent to our rooms, compel us to understand that we are nature, now me talking with you, you listening, nature speaking/listening to itself, nature has produced us for a purpose we have yet to discern, in this moment of pandemic, scientists are telling us we are running out of time to solve global problems, we are understanding that we will only solve these when we shift the fundamental mindset that brings us to today: HOW DOES HUMANITY UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NATURE BEGINS TO ALIGN ITSELF WITH THE LAWS OF NATURE? BIOMIMICRY, the new bible/Tora, religious texts, if replaced with awareness of Gaia, Earth systems, Xtraordinary future we would have>>>Stepahanie Place Marshall, State of the world forum, Illinois educator Institute for Science and Math Academy, joined boards Ubiqui

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:21 AM)

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:22 AM)

om gaia

Sam Chaltain to Panelists and Attendees (11:23 AM)

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:26 AM)

SPM: Group of 10 dance, then elder sang, stopped, started again, ilya Tary began again, invited to come sit in the circle, changed the singling and nothing will ever be the same again, 80,000 year old singling, rainbow serpents, 2 males, 2 females, females wanted to go to the lake aline, males jealous underneath killed them, a new story of the rainbow serpent, 2 females by themselves to the lake, males sad and missed them, followed to the lake came up underneath the lake and embraced them, SPM invited to tell a new story, thought no, then understood in the presence of Western leader cocreated a new story from hostility/anger/death/competition to new story of love/compassion/generosity>>>perhaps something was set in motion, Australian gov 1998 declared nat day of healing SORRY DAY, 8 years later parliament issued apologies to Aboriginals, nothing would ever again be the same, new story of possibility to become who we are, can go every/anywhere, returned to Illinois science academy, why don’t we create

SPM: Our strategic plan like a story line, then wrote book, identity, map, relationships, patters, structures brought back a frame is the new story/map/landscape

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:27 AM)

thank YOU!

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:30 AM)

Sam Chaltain: He was there in his office at the events at The Capitol unfold, first draft of history moment, would be in the place of the TV images s=to steps at the Capitol, horrifying, no clear indication of violence but yes, fanaticism and growing menace, deeply help belief, so not surprising a friend of his a history teacher, student asked “Is this the end or the beginning of something?” Both, first page of the book ::https://seedandspark.live/::

Breadcrumbs!!

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:35 AM)

How do we think about physical design?

franka to Panelists and Attendees (11:36 AM)

oddly the screen is ok on YouTube live

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:36 AM)

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:42 AM)

Trung Lee: Path of series of questions, many conversations with SPM over a decade, trying to operationalize reaching insight/wisdom affecting work/questions, Distinction between science and design, Science: understanding the now, Design creating the new future we want to be/live in, Seed & Spark, unexpected series of workshops with collaborators, teacher Cristie Wylie asked “What do I do Monday?” Complex set of ideas, NOW? at 180 with Sam, use design to see new story for ourselves and children,  Left Vietnam since end of the war, new world, different country, broken with decades of wars, amplifying old vs new story, 100,000,000 people 60% under 35 years old, “What does it mean to be Vienamese in 21st Century Context?” manifested in physical form new story, in own backyard in Chicago Southwest side (My father’s family is from this neighborhood perking up attention, I marched thru here in 2014) learn the world enough to steward it for kids, emergent clarity in Seed & Spark

Thank you Sam!

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:45 AM)

SC: if goal is to seed & spark then a book is one form, need many other forms, this year weaving together a group of people from around the world using nature as its guide, how to elevate this 2021 journey (SO CURIOUS!) recurring conversations in Humanity Rising, sign up to receive regular emails on Sundays, tomorrow featuring Dr. Dan Segal at the forefront to articulate working definition of mind, new word (Love creating new vocabulary MWE-I am because you are {UBUNTU?} applied to our lives, many requesting personally providing the ebook, what should these 130 people talk about, differing degrees of responding to our questions…?

Julie Wolf to Panelists and Attendees (11:45 AM)

This is a group of 130 people here - what do we want to talk about?

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:46 AM)

How could these principles be applied to humans living in response to climate crisis?

Kurt Krueger to Panelists and Attendees (11:46 AM)

Love to have your information/book and dialogue with you about the Peace LAB. SuccessSystemsInternational@gmail.com

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:46 AM)

good one!

Kathryn Alexander, MA to Panelists and Attendees (11:46 AM)

I was struck by your question - how do we teach children enough about the Earth for them to take care of it. With so many living in cities how do we foster a love a nature they do not see?

Sam Chaltain to Panelists and Attendees (11:48 AM)

HTTP://SEEDANDSPARK.LIVE::

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:48 AM)

SC: Quoting Stephanie “Transformation is first/foremost an outside job.” Easy to think about those things outside of ourselves, How we are at the small scale is how we are at the large scale, Only thing to do in this vast/complex problem, ecologically right sized/minded as possible to become infectious as possible.

Jane Norton to Panelists and Attendees (11:49 AM)

Kat, Stephanie's quote is about an inside job.

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:49 AM)

our communities need to bring the living world into children’s everyday lives and shine the  light of awareness on the processes that are invisible - the magic of life!

Kala to Panelists and Attendees (11:49 AM)

Richard Page to Panelists and Attendees (11:49 AM)

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:53 AM)

SPM: Mother of all questions…we are all living in response to climate crisis, pick up on Sma’s what can we do right in front of us?
