Where ever there is open un-used soil in your area, plant regenerative grains, indigenous plants, Community Gardens (where the grown food may be shared in community dinners and with the needy) ~ like Our Heart Gardens.
Scouts could collect seeds, like pinecones, acorns, etc. while on hikes. Then periodically, create a community event to share how, where, and why to plant these seeds.
Schools near creeks, tributaries to rivers, and lakes could take responsibility for a portion of the banks to rejuvenate the plant and soil nearby.
