Beautiful Bob.  That is exactly the way the Original People of this land believed that leadership was, honor the people, care for the people, the most valuable part of community. It is possible that getting grounded on this land has allowed you and others to channel this higher purpose. Bravo and thank you for rising and shining courageously.

11:35:07 From MARIA PATRICIA PRADO to Everyone:

My internet  is very bad today. Love this conversation and know it is absolutely necessary. Will watch recording. Thanks to all/

11:36:05 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Empathetic discussion is the Indigenous “Talking Stick” circles, colonized.

11:38:30 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

There are so many hidden values, of pre-colonial philosophy, that have been appropriated by others

11:38:45 From Cynthia Bledsoe to Everyone:

Recalling "social witnessing" - a listening capacity taught by Thomas Hubl. A step in trauma healing requiring empathy. Dissolves othering. Typically within families or close friends. Let's redefine "family" for greater good.

11:38:53 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

   yes Kevin.

11:39:20 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

They learn by beig cared for.

11:39:36 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Not just ‘how’ to care, but “WHY” to care…

11:40:41 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

Kevin, however the wisdom is accepted, it is still being embraced. WE honour the ancestors, and ...whatever works to transform this world. I love that these men have been touched by the Divine with wisdom that was lost.

11:42:30 From Jim Garrison to Stan for the Chatpeople(Direct Message):

Still on for the call at noon PST today?

11:42:37 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Values - whoops loyalty will corrupt…

11:44:12 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Hummm, Interface had values above profit and then achieved both.

11:44:42 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

Yes, Kathryn,  I like that paradigm better too.

11:44:46 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

The Church has yet to atone for the truths exposed by the 10,000 indigenous gravesites, on Turtle Island; so to talk about change, there needs to be a reset of values; the church has proven this to be unattainable.

11:45:20 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

That used to be the role of OD folks, but people didn't understand what Organizational development folks did. NOT hr!

11:45:32 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Adding more church resources, within a system that was designed to entrench inequality, is NOT a solution; #TellTheTruth

11:50:01 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Earth values are the only ones I’ve found that serve BOYH people and planet.

11:50:30 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Its unfortunate that these leadership narratives do nothing to bridge the gap between Onkwehonwe truths and colonial lies.

The colonial philosophy is fueled by inequality.

11:52:07 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

   Yes, such a good point!

11:52:37 From Jane Norton to Everyone:

   Profound! Bob.

11:52:39 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

The greatest act of Charity is Governance that makes philanthropy irrelevant

11:53:33 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Philanthropy is a sign of failed government

11:53:56 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Learning that would massively undercut the current republica agenda.

11:54:36 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

   Yes, love Simon's ideas!

11:55:07 From Kathleen McTeigue to Everyone:

What is Simon's last name so we can access the Ted talk?

11:56:29 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

   Simon Sinek

11:56:55 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Charity is a weapon wielded by the church

11:57:03 From Kathleen McTeigue to Everyone:

   Thanks, Katherine.

11:57:46 From Marty Levin to Everyone:

I'm impressed with what Bob and Jason are sharing about caring for the people in their employ. How do their values align with those of the B Corporation movement?

11:58:27 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

   Good question, Marty!

11:58:38 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Mary, I’d take how you treat people over values any day. We corrupt values to serve our purposes way too often.

11:58:53 From Diane SKIDMORE to Everyone:

   Three TED talks!! (Simon Sinek)

11:59:25 From Cynthia Bledsoe to Everyone:

Yes, also curious what type of legal business entity they are and why they believe it matters (B-Corp, Social Enterprise, etc...)

11:59:43 From Diane SKIDMORE to Everyone:

   Caring and responsibility!! Brill xxx

11:59:55 From Cynthia Bledsoe to Everyone:

Do they have an exit strategy?

12:00:05 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

The same thing applies to landlords. They control how people live, their quality of life. They do not understand that. Caring = heart, values - mind.

12:00:18 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Rutger Bregman, is another great Ted speaker , who talks about wealth and inequality.

12:00:39 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

Cynthia, Bob said something about that at the beginning of the presentation.

12:01:09 From Stan for the Chatpeople to Everyone:

            =========================

12:01:26 From Cynthia Bledsoe to Everyone:

Thanks, Shannon. I'll rewatch :) Missed a few minutes live.

12:02:22 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

   My personal opinion is it

12:02:50 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

The common denominator of every fallen empire is greed, why can’t we see it as todays solution; to reverse the imbalance, through policy NOT philanthropy.

12:04:49 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Humm, what about a government that cares for its people - what would that look like?

12:04:53 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

How can this model be offered to people in unions so that they would trust it enough to give it a try?

12:04:53 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

oops - IMHO it's not all business, but more so, certain industries and their money in politics, ultimately to keep outdated and unsustainable products or services, I.e., fossil fuels.

12:05:01 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Employees are recognizing that the companies they work for don’t care about ANYTHING but profit, and by default that means ‘the employees’ are expendable.

12:05:29 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

“People, purpose & performance” Bob Chapman

12:06:39 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

   Purpose, people, performance

12:07:41 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Then its a curriculum issue then? To teach caring?

12:08:05 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Bob is coming from a powerful place, Jason is talking old talk - business focused and not people focused. Caring for people is a MUCH bigger driver IMO

12:09:12 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

Jason is still young, and learning from a good mentor, imo. Thanks for your perception, Kathryn.

12:09:57 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

The privilege of the panel is obvious

12:10:39 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

WE always hope that caring for people will lead to caring for the planet - I’m not so sure….

12:10:41 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

Food on the table would be good too.

12:11:17 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

Is it teach people (or all people) to learn to care or more so incentivize caring, work/life balance or whatever the idea is today. I know a lot of leaders  - even in my own middle management positions - where I cared, but it didn't matter to the bottom line. I know/knew how to care but it didn't always matter based on the objective(s) my team and I were held to…

12:11:34 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Governance is responsible for caring for the planet, the people will follow.

12:12:21 From Jason Lippert to Host and Panelists:

i'm not so you LOL and would tell you that there is extreme caring going on in our organization... come check us out in Indiana and i'll show you :)

12:12:36 From Jason Lippert to Host and Panelists:

   not so young

12:13:17 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Transitional governance models that INCLUDE youth within its horizontal method.

12:13:31 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

Yes - we appreciate you and that you are here, and care!! Thank you!

12:15:57 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

Please come to the AfterChat to speak to the people who have been listening to. There is so much more to be said...

12:16:37 From Joseph Rosenshein to Host and Panelists:

   Where’s the AfterChat?

12:17:16 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Reconciliation needs to become a narrative that includes Mother Nature and business leaders.

12:17:55 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

There are so few avenues for men to care - sports coaching and …. management. What a wonderful lesson!!!

12:18:53 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

George - what is the message you heard?

12:18:58 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

The Divine Feminine is what the future needs, as male dominance has an obvious trajectory now..

12:19:21 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

Thank you for that - for having these ideas, models and creating the momentum… for being leaders of this movement!

12:19:33 From Jane Norton to Everyone:

Yes, please get Bob to talk to Congress!

12:20:13 From Leila Yazigi-Jeantelot to Everyone:

It warms my heart to listen to such a deep message.  Thank you Bob, Jason, Tom, George & Jim.  Love and Light to all

12:20:51 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Church and congress is how we got here, why is it believed to be a solution?

12:21:11 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

Spirit is the true leader, working through us all… these are superb lenses for the Light to shine through. Thank you, Tom and George, for bringing these business leaders to speak to us.

12:21:52 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

The philosophy of Church and congress gave the world a view of how fascism is born

12:22:12 From Joseph Candia to Host and Panelists:

   CONSCIOUS CAPITALISM

12:22:15 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

   Jan 6th

12:23:33 From Mary Thorp_WV to Everyone:

   What is Bob Chapman’s company?

12:24:24 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

   Chapman is CEO of Barry-Wehmiller,

12:24:36 From Mary Thorp_WV to Everyone:

   TY.

12:24:39 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Interface is the only compan I know that has been willing to learn how to their business in the same way nature works. that’s why EArth Values can make a difference - the link between people and planet is not clear and not strong. Caring is a start!!

12:25:45 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

This is not enough - we need to act LIKE nature, not just do less damage…

12:25:49 From Michael Cassiers to Everyone:

When you become more aware and conscious and start caring, you will inevitably start caring for everything. You will not see the environment as separate.

12:26:06 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Localization and degrowth narratives are yet to percolate up to business leaders, why is that?   The Overton Window has shown this in many cases.

12:26:26 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Hope so Michael. We don't understand how nature works, sooooooo....

12:27:03 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

Thank you for stating that, Jason. Agree. At the large financial institution I worked for (for over a decade), we had a Social Responsibility division that included the Sustainability efforts. It has been in place over a decade now. This included heating/cooling, LEED building, printing, etc. and also and perhaps more importantly, reviewing the types of investments being made.

12:27:24 From Mary Thorp_WV to Everyone:

Jason, we’ve discovered here that sustainable solutions are passé & that in this time of code red, we need to focus on regeneration.

   Thorpdesign@gmail.com

12:27:40 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

An individual will not do it. ALL eyes must understand nature so ALL eyes contribute to shifts - many tiny, that will ensure nature thrives.

12:29:03 From Michael Cassiers to Everyone:

From what I see, a lot of awareness is popping up, Kathryn. Just thinking of Theory U, Giles Hutchins, etc.

12:29:10 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

John Mohawk speaks to the ‘western culture’ and its awareness to the environment.

12:31:30 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

Everybody needs to be seen as somebody's precious child. Dignity is essential.

12:31:32 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

People as purpose , is to say that inequality is no longer acceptable.

This is how youth in leadership projects, like neighborocracy, address this at the community level.

12:31:37 From Stan for the Chatpeople to Everyone:

Bob. aluminum is a better packaging. But we need a large effort to make all single use packaging to be ultimately compostable. There are thousands of sturdy materials in the form of insect outer structure or other natural material. If the package industry looked hard enough they could find biomimicry materials that would turn to soil eventually.

12:31:44 From Kathryn Alexander MA to Everyone:

Great program - must go.. thank you!!!

12:32:03 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

Thank you, Kathryn, for all your perception and sharing.

12:33:01 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

Yes, thanks to you both and George and Tom for running these sessions. Appreciate this conversation and your works in the world!

12:33:23 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

thank you for giving us your time, Bob and Jason; I look forward to chatting - with you, if possible - in the AfterChat, following this…

12:33:31 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Stan, as with every Overton Window, the resistance to change is the COST to the ownerships of such industries, that need to change.

12:33:50 From Shannon McArthur (she/her) to Everyone:

   we are aligning...

12:35:29 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

   Nature bats last

12:36:38 From Mary Thorp_WV to Everyone:

   Yes, Bob!!!

   Thank you.

12:37:01 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

Education is driven by curriculum, which has the Church at its core…..reconciliation begins a watershed moment, that will protect ALL watersheds globally.

12:37:24 From Ina Albert to Everyone:

Ina Abert - Makes me rpoud of my book, “Granny Greeny Says…Listen Louder.”

12:37:37 From Katherine Augustine to Everyone:

   Yes, yes, George! Thank you!!

12:37:38 From Daniel Sieff to Everyone:

Thank you. Understand and validate. Not to judge. That is beautiful.
