A panel discussion from The Monastery, Manchester UK
Twenty-four years ago, the Pugin-designed Franciscan monastery in Manchester, lay derelict and was listed as one of the 100 most endangered sites in the world by the World Monument Fund in New York. It was listed alongside The Taj Mahal, Macchu Picchu and the Valley of the Kings, leading to its nickname as Manchester’s Taj Mahal. Today, this stunning, fully-restored masterpiece on this sacred site is rising to serve its highest purpose. The Monastery, Manchester stands as a beacon of light and a powerful catalyst of transformation.
In 2021, the modern-day monastery will be re-launching with its powerful new vision as the beating heart of Manchester, a city sanctuary for peace and a global centre for the celebration of life. Boldly stepping forward with a voice for transformation and a clear vision of human renewal in a post-covid world the panel today will present key ideas that are central to our vision. These include; values-based education and the inner curriculum, the renaissance of the spirit and the sacred solution, nature, reciprocity and human potential, sacred union, radical forgiveness and internal family system and the rise of community, wisdom, compassion, resilience and sovereignty
