I entered an all-girl high school in 1956 as the only one from a particular grade school. The power was in cliques who bullied those who did not have a clique coming in. Group power, many weak as individuals.

I’ve read some psychological writing on bullying that was aimed at supporting the bullied person, not the bully. I believe that more thinking needs to be done on how to reduce the power of the bully. Both the bully and their audience need to be studied.
