Here in Brasil, a simple machine extracts from the¨" fécula" of manioc, that grows beautifully here..possibility to make cups, plates substituting plastic, that not only is degradable, but you can eat them! I dream to bring it up to Bahia, but still very expensive..this machine.

The Idea of “coming together” is central to many of the presentations… Coming together calls for categorization of the various groups and then there needs to be people doing “matchmaking” to enable development of collaborations. Living Earth Movement is seeking young people initially from China and the United Sates to participate in Sharing From the Heart to share the “seeds of hope” they are planting in their local settings. Once a month, people ages 18-35 briefly share seeds of hope they are planting and get feedback from friends near and far. They will talk about food, poetry, gardening, or life itself. Along the way they enter into conversation with John B. Cobb, Jr., age 97, a pioneer in seed planting for an Ecological Civilization. Does anyone remember the HR episode where someone talked about the incident in Iran where the family drove up to a road block, and then they turned around but the father was shot? I met an Iranian graduate student at Thanksgiving dinner yesterday and I want to send him the link to the information. I have no memory of when it was, but I am pretty sure it was here This young man is considering going home for Christmas, and I am not sure it is a safe choice.
