Elders are not respected in US, but it's a cultural thing. I live in Mexico now, and there is much more respect given elders. Even middle aged people will get up to give me a seat on the bus. I am often offered help, without even having to ask for it. In US, I NEVER experience that.

Kikanza…I had to smile when you mentioned wearing comfortable shoes. I recently attended my 51st HS reunion. I needed a new pair of shoes…tried on a pair of heels…and blew my knee out. I then bought a comfortable stylish pair of Clarks…black suede pumps…wore them throughout the event…and did not kick them off even when up on the dance floor. Thanks for your wisdom.

It just a question about how many smaller losses we sustain before the final last out breath. Those smaller deaths, ( life changing loss ) when we look back are the experiences that feed our soil, the one we stand in as experience, mine is rich with fertilizer that gives me the impetus to sustain and grow a bigger heart to share because being an elder brings the wisdom learned from these choices that led into the land of loss and grief. We all share this land and its consequences. So yes melting with others heart to heart to continue in the dance divine. With all we currently hold and are, because we have come this far, wealthy in the rich fertilized soil of our days shared on Earth. Honoring all here in this morning because here we are again in this new day. Age and the Sage.Namaste.
