11:13:30 From Marie-France Lepage to Host and Panelists:
Good morning 🌞 Some times as in this morning the sound of the bell is inaudible. Thank you for all that you do.
11:13:38 From Charry Stover to Everyone:
Jim, any chance we could add in the 1 minute meditation that we used to do at the beginning of the program as a bookend at the very end of Humanity Rising?

11:17:58 From Diane. to Everyone:
It's time for every one of us to take responsibility for every move we make!!
11:18:50 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
And stop pointing fingers at others.
11:19:26 From Diane. to Everyone:
The word 'blame' needs to be dropped. It doesn't help. Asking "Who's to blame?" will never lead to a solution. "Whos' gonna take responsibility?" is the important question!
11:19:49 From Diane. to Everyone:
Phew!! Thanks Shannon!!
11:21:03 From astridstahlberg to Everyone:
Thank you, Diane. I agree with you. We need to cooperate with Peace in our hearts.
11:22:00 From Diane. to Everyone:
❤️
11:22:17 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
It doesn't matter what causes us to react as we do - what matters is that we control our reactions.
11:23:12 From Diane. to Everyone:
And use our hearts, not just facts!! The journey from head to heart......
11:25:46 From astridstahlberg to Host and Panelists:
Agree
11:26:05 From brett barndt to Host and Panelists:
I'm concerned about what precipitates this Wetiko? I don't hear this discussed. escription as a virus affecting “white people” seems to avoid seeing
11:27:16 From Jean Stevens to Everyone:
Love the breathing and the sound healing. Hopes for peace and sanity. Thank goodness Trump was not invited to the Queen’s funeral. Abolition of nukes and those whom are causing climate change and wars for money. Love is the answer.
11:27:28 From Stan for the Chatpeople to Everyone:
Diane and Brett, please set the blue button to “Everyone” so that all watching can see your remarks.
11:28:20 From kathryn davison to Everyone:
George speaks eloquently, but the myth of democracy is so far from reality - we only get to vote for candidates who have no need to honor the pledges and platforms they campaign on, and a host of representatives who have demonstrated that they serve whoever pays them the most. Thus, the voter is sitting in the transparent lunacy of a non-working process.
11:28:34 From brett barndt to Everyone:
seeing the causes of selfishness i.e. the enclosures of the commons that spread across Europe starting in the Renaissance which sent landless homeless people abroad in search of land. The same thing about what happened in Germany. Enclosures were spreading there, people pushed out of their feudal land rights into factory wage work that was dependent on the banking sector. There are underlying forces that we don't see if we simply speak about the virus. Yes, there is a virus. What are causal factors? Seeing those factors can help us name possible solutions. There have been terrible law changes in this country over the 40 yrs that we see this virus rising.
11:29:24 From Karri-ann Flater to Everyone:
I agree Kathryn, that is how I see it as well (it feels the same way in Canada as well)
11:30:10 From Carlos Prosser to Everyone:
I believe that we need a large dose of empathy and humility to connect with those millions of beings who are neither willing nor able to live democracy and its superior values. Too many people are infected by the virus MIA more powerful than COVID, that virus inoculates central behavior patterns in real life: Materialism, Individualism and Authoritarianism. We need to live and share the opposite patterns: Simple Prosperity, Cooperativism and Peace.
11:32:04 From Karri-ann Flater to Everyone:
Love that Carlos ❤
11:32:45 From brett barndt to Everyone:
@Katherine Davison There is a growing conversation about the imbalance and instability in Athenian Democracy encoded into it. They focus on the aspect that an Aggrieved Minority can and always will be incited against the Majority. They compare Athenian Democracy to Consensus of the Native People's Tribal Council and find it lacking. Ben Franklin proposed the Tribal Council as the model, but his peers preferred Athenian Democracy, which was always dominated by an elite as Plato says and required periodic rescue by strong Totalitarians, who sometimes saw their interests were aligned with the masses of people. Perhaps because they understood how it advantages an oligarchy.
11:34:04 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
Interesting, Brett, thank you.
11:34:47 From Karri-ann Flater to Everyone:
Interesting, connecting the dots, thank you Brett
11:35:33 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
Stan, you know about the Powell Memorandum, don't you?
11:35:54 From brett barndt to Everyone:
Even this Democracy was flawed from the first years because the Shays’ and Whiskey Rebellions show how power was unevenly distributed even amongst land owning voters. Small holders were over taxed in a regime where the money supply was controlled by the creditors. And, so lost their land despite serving in the Revolutionary Army. It feels like analysis today fails to see this power imbalance that was in place from the very beginning.
11:37:05 From Marilyn Schramm to Everyone:
not sure Lincoln did the US any favors trying to hold the Union together. Perhaps it's time to split the Nation. Let the authoritarian white supremacists have their own country and the rest can live in democracy. It CAN be worked out!
11:37:26 From Karri-ann Flater to Everyone:
Fascinating, I would love to take a history class from you Brett, I could imagine it would be much more interesting/accurate than what I was taught in public school.
11:37:38 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:
Brett, that initial democracy was a bastardized version of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and NOT what Joseph Brant was presenting
11:37:39 From brett barndt to Everyone:
Conservatives have done but “liberals" acquiesced. Both parties are funded by the same money sources and interests to keep the masses down.

11:38:37 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
Thanks, Stan!

unaware women & children are currently living with & being raised by white supremacists
11:40:38 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
I know that, Marilyn. That disturbs me.
11:40:42 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:
The leadership structure of the Haudenosaunee was matrilineal, whereby Franklin was against this women in leadership model
11:41:09 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
Putting a border around supremacists keeps the victims in with them.

11:42:13 From Stan for the Chatpeople to Everyone:
Thanks to Greenpeace for the analysis and download.
11:42:52 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
“Fighting against” gives power to the thing you fight against.
11:42:58 From kathryn davison to Everyone:
@bb, thanks for that clarification. Today it seems so many minorities are 'shouting’ eloquently on social media with seemingly no impact on the elected officials. Climate, indigenous rights, education, etc.- in any case your distinction btwn the Athenian and Tribal Council models. I wonder now how the scope and scale of our sheer numbers impact/condition the efficacy of these models. How many actual town halls are organized these days? Here in San Antonio, our mayor is much more conversant and inviting feedback from citizens; but in most cases the leadership is wildly abusive. In any case, I am so interested in modern methodologies to restore balance and justice.
11:43:17 From Kathleen McTeigue to Everyone:
It's key to get money out of politics. We now have legalized bribery. Most people feel they no longer have a voice in our government. Disempowered, desperate people do desperate things.
11:43:25 From Karri-ann Flater to Everyone:
True Shannon, I prefer "love-in-action" instead of activism.
11:43:53 From Karen Ball to Everyone:
11:44:24 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
Thanks, Karen. Good to see you here!
11:44:31 From Jane Norton to Everyone:
These are great suggestions, George, but we need an organized, strategic collective effort just like the folks who adopted the Powell Memo did. The Republicans get lock step in line with their agendas; the Democrats are all over the place.
11:44:32 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
Karri-ann, I love that!

Hi, Tina! (*U*)

Stan, that's great!!
11:47:56 From Kat Haber to Everyone:
If when we are asked to retain judges, we had a better reporting of key decisions they made in the past were available. In Alaska we are asked to retain judges for 10 years and have only a reporting by other attorneys if they have been good judges-with no context. As an informed elector, this is very difficult to discern who are the judges to be supported or replaced.
11:48:13 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

11:53:22 From Jan Cafearo to Host and Panelists:
This is a powerful point, thank you
11:53:28 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:
This also speaks to the benefits of a Matrilineal leadership model
11:54:26 From Charles Betterton to Everyone:
Thank you Jim and George. I agree with all of the suggestions and recommendations both of you have shared with us. However, at this time, in the United States, I can't think of any more valuable initiative than sharing the free PDF copy of George's book on In Extremis as widely as possible, especially in the swing states. Please share the link to download a copy in the chat and also could Humanity Rising possibly allocate an additional program on sharing George's the positive practical steps in George;s book
11:54:48 From Ariyana Jill to Everyone:
Look at who owns the politicians. Look at who owns the media. Look at who is behind the scenes. We are ALL very programmable. Our responsibility to to take our own minds back and yes, reclaim our sovereignty.
11:54:56 From Karen Ball to Everyone:
How do we get a free copy?
11:55:24 From Stan for the Chatpeople to Everyone:
The lack of a rudder seems to have left the nature of our governance to those who have amassed great wealth and control of the military and the press.
11:55:48 From Karri-ann Flater to Everyone:
I agree Ariyana.
11:55:54 From Kat Haber to Everyone:
Does that standard eliminate the voice of the common man who can not afford the T$FSS to qualify in this type of system?
11:56:08 From Jan Cafearo to Host and Panelists:
I’m in full agreement, let’s make sure the training is not just left brain, but also values other intelligences
11:56:29 From Tina Michel to Everyone:
TRUE, George!
11:56:31 From Karri-ann Flater to Everyone:
Very true Stan
11:56:49 From Samantha Hirtler to Everyone:
in surrendering to Divine Spirit as fundamental leader there is no need for external systems on which to depend. they all become illusory and transparently assumptive of separative boundaries
11:56:50 From Marilyn Schramm to Everyone:
there is no respect for education in US. People's choices of political representatives is clear evidence of that
11:57:06 From Tina Michel to Everyone:
we need rank-choice voting...The 2-party duopoly has failed
11:57:08 From Ariyana Jill to Everyone:
The whole globe just went through one of the most totalitarian experiences in world history.
11:57:09 From Karri-ann Flater to Everyone:
Love that Samantha
11:57:21 From Kat Haber to Everyone:
We just had ranked choice voting for the first time in Alaska and there was far less dissing of candidates occurred. Collaboration led to the first Democrate to represent Alaska in the House of Repesentatives since we became a state.
11:57:26 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:
The rudder needs to turn sharper than the legacy of the stolen democracy can provide.

12:04:04 From Kat Haber to Everyone:
the threshhold is 50% +1, if that is not met the lowest candidate is dropped out until the. 2nd, 3rd, rounds. Ultimatle ythe clear majority prevails. Yes @Jim you have described it accurately.

^^^^^Kat, the weather in Alaska has been a devastating experience for some friends of mine..
Even as they speak about the floods in Pakistan, they are saddened by the disconnection between current weather tragedies AND the reporting as such
12:06:03 From Kat Haber to Everyone:
@Kevin, Earth is sounding alarms in so many elemental forms now. @George yes, public funding for brief campaigns. Solutions worth recovering our democracy.
12:06:28 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

12:07:54 From Kathryn Alexander, MA to Host and Panelists:
Yes the right has been very intentional, the left, not souch.
12:08:33 From Kat Haber to Everyone:
@shannon would you issue electronic voting devices to elders/older teens for online voting?
12:08:52 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:
Youth in leadership programs, such as Childrens Parliment, from India, is a cornerstone element of the transitional governance model, that includes the technology required for large scale decision making.
12:09:22 From Marilyn Schramm to Everyone:
BUT the reason money is in politics is because the people pay no attention to politics & what their representatives are doing. They vote based upon false/misleading 30 second TV ads. The money is needed to buy those TV ads. ultimately, the PEOPLE are responsible for their laziness & lack of civic engagement
12:11:31 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
Kat, there are libraries and schools and a system already i place for those who don't have online access. However, I believe communities need places where online access is free and secure. And yes, eventually, resource-sensitively, people deserve their own access.
12:11:40 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:
The colonial mindset was purposely woven INTO the version of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy that was introduced as the roots of the US Constitution

Karri-ann, he is. George is saying don't vote for the Republicans.
12:14:59 From Kevin he/him Canada to Everyone:

12:15:20 From Charles Betterton to Everyone:
Even Republicans who love democracy can appreciate the truth and wisdom in George's book In Extremis
12:15:21 From Karri-ann Flater to Everyone:
I see, ok thanks Shannon. I think I was confused because from what I understand people seem to be unhappy with him as well.
12:15:55 From Shannon McArthur to Everyone:
The Constitution should be a "living document" in that changes will be made as the country grows in awareness.
12:15:56 From Kat Haber to Everyone:

A ranked-choice voting system (RCV) is an electoral system in which voters rank candidates by preference on their ballots. If a candidate wins a majority of first-preference votes, he or she is declared the winner. If no candidate wins a majority of first-preference votes, the candidate with the fewest first-preference votes is eliminated. First-preference votes cast for the failed candidate are eliminated, lifting the second-preference choices indicated on those ballots. A new tally is conducted to determine whether any candidate has won a majority of the adjusted votes. The process is repeated until a candidate wins an outright majority.
