While trying to index EVERYTHING in OtherNetworks, it's become clear to me that none of us (including me) can read all of the books, watch all of the podcasts, or be aware of all the things that our consciousness could hold... We can't know everything. And I have to fight being depressed over not having a global consciousness for all of the pain and needs of the people around the world.

Agreements
Everything we know, everything we see, everything we do together depends on agreements. Language is a tool for making agreements, writing is a tool for recording agreements, money is a tool for enumerating and assigning value to our agreements. Agreements among people are the basis for our conscious reality. Without a process for agreed upon concepts, our reality would be awash with meaningless sensations.

We used this model at the old Lucasfilm when Star Wars empire was being built. There was so much innovation being created - and the environment grounded the people and the people were from all sectors with very little expertise - but with a huge amount of movement thru the cycle. Amazing to see this in hindsight - and what happens when this care and knowing is eliminated. The hearts begin to die

Veronica, fwiw: On my view, there will always be some level of corruption in every system. I am beginning to believe that, so long as the corruption is not fatal (which is the clear and present danger) then cultural evolution will most likely guide a culture into more complexity, slowly building up health and functionality in each color, with all sorts of ups and downs and ongoing challenges.
