Good Morning from the woods of North Carolina.

Happy to you Lilane and Doreen

Daniel Rieders to Panelists and Attendees (11:04 AM)

hola from California

Me to All panelists and other attendees (11:04 AM)

Ok, here we are on day 166 and a new world has begun... (But it’s being called 167 by Ubiquity)

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:05 AM)

Glorious good morning, Risers & Chatters… Gaia loves you.

we are NOT all Americans, Jim. Though we do watch you.

Doreen Tanenbaum to Panelists and Attendees (11:06 AM)

Thank you Marcia -love to you

Jen Forti to Panelists and Attendees (11:06 AM)

Good morning and blessings from Portland, OR 💚

Crystal to Panelists and Attendees (11:07 AM)

Love Amanda Gorman and her poem, “The Hill We Climb”!

Doreen Tanenbaum to Panelists and Attendees (11:08 AM)

Yes…thank you Jim!

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:09 AM)

And..... feel to mention very strongly that - there are many people who don't feel the same relief. I think there is a HUGE need to remember compassion and kindness - we need to avoid trouble happening precisely because half the USA nation still feels unloved and unheard.

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:10 AM)

Climate was never in our control. WE are out of control.

Doreen Tanenbaum to Panelists and Attendees (11:10 AM)

So right Diane…we will need to address this

Barbro Esbjörnsdotter to Panelists and Attendees (11:10 AM)

So right Diane!

Marcia Raff to Panelists and Attendees (11:11 AM)

Diane, How can we educate them to know they have to give up the lies told them by Trump so we can be one force in the USA.

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:11 AM)

Thank you Shannon - we need to really work on unifying every move!! For climate AND people!

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:12 AM)

AHHHH, I love starting with this resonance! Zooming in from Snowy Vail…Yaya we are talking climate, righting relations/solutions with EARTH today! JG: inauguration of Joe Biden and Kama Harris, breathing sighs of relief, worst president in (244 years of USA history has faded into Mar-A-Lago where Pam Beach does not want him to live per a previous agreement. ) Soft coup failed, people voted, courts backed up the fair, honest, accurate election (After 61 cases only 1 prevailed) insurrection, House/Senate/VP Mike Pence had to escape. (Speaker Pelosi is announcing now how they will manage Impeachment trial while confirming new administration) 1/15 executive orders yesterday Rejoining Paris Climate Accord! Mr. t canceled. Global warming is accelerating, many scientists say it may be irredeemable, we need urgent attention, Nancy is calling for unity, and standing ground when necessary, Margaret Klein Solomon-“The Climate Emergency” transform ourselves with climate truth, Slouching toward Armageddon,

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:12 AM)

Let's hope Mr Biden has some really clever advisors

David Stoney to Panelists and Attendees (11:12 AM)

W. B. Yeats, Jim

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:12 AM)

Goddess bless us all, Diane…

Welcome Margaret & Jeremy!

Activists meet after this in the AfterChat… come play and share with us!!

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:14 AM)

Margaret: Invited Jeremy Lent: Patterning Instinct, Humanity search for meaning, George Monbiot declared most important book he ever read-HIGH PRAISE! Usually discussed from political/scientific/logical/rational perspectives, leaving out social/self meaning, Discuss in new way!

Jen Forti to Panelists and Attendees (11:14 AM)

Welcome Margaret & Jeremy!

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:15 AM)

MKS: self conception, What does life mean? Why are we here? begin with inauguration, Trump’s/Biden’s  self concepts…?

David Stoney to Panelists and Attendees (11:16 AM)

The Second Coming - W. B. Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;

Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out

When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi

Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,

A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,

Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it

Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again; but now I know

That twenty centuries of stony sleep

Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,

Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Jen Forti to Panelists and Attendees (11:18 AM)

Absolutely not. The work is just beginning

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:18 AM)

Exactly - the system itself is not so good. Even JB at the top may not help much. There is much that needs to change.

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:19 AM)

JL: Narcissitic pathology of T-Xpresident, relived so narcissistic failed to turn his authoritarianness into reality, temporary relief from utter disaster, not a landslide, not a foregone conclusion, only his incompetence Dictator wanna be allowed other powers to protect us, Be AWARE! nuanced relief for Joe Biden at this moment, relief, enjoying sense of calm/stability/unity…also know he is coming from sense of self embedded in a system leading us to destruction, normalcy, as it should be, must transform to avoid this direction, not get lulled into NORMAL BEFORE was wholly insufficient, 4 years delayed from taking action, rampage on our souls, beginning for true transformative change,

Yes, solution is not simply a matter of filling slots of dying government institution with diversity . . .

As an African American, I was very moved by the inauguration.  An interesting observation, Biden is the first person to be Vice President to the first male African American President and the first person to be President of the first woman African American Vice President.  Very historic.

my TRUTH

MKS: T is a narcissist, huge barrier to being effective, and why supporters loved him, way of being they resonated with/share, Always comparing greatness-his prevailing consistently, self concept not unusual,

Ihave not seen anybody really breakdown narcissist pathology and mechanism. name calling helps, NOT SUFFICIENT. splitting...

It’s all about ME!  and so individualistic a me, too

Thank you Daniel. I'm struggling to watch 'us' keep saying how 'relieved' we are in the same way - almost as bad.

I think this intellectual approach is deficient

I got mine so you get yours - rugged indivi

The Western Guy myth

Phew. heart help needed. For all xxx

The ME needs to realize MOM has last say, and had first say too. Thinking separately will not get us down the right path.

I would like then to discuss splitting

Or - how to unite!!

Forward moves - next moves. How to REALLY move on

Civilizations come, civilizations go.  We’re at the restaurant at the end of civilization. Gaia must be breathing a sigh of relief. (Thanks, Douglas Adams)

Jeremy’s book The Patterning Instinct is an amazing tour of the development of thinking and philosophy historically world-wide. Highly recommend it!

JL: t tapped into American personality type endorses, How we are meant to be/live our lives…compare with Hitler/Mussolini shared nationalism totalitarian thinking, t uniquely else of self>>>globalized hegemonic culture pinnacled in USA, separate from everything else around, me and my family and that’s all, rugged individualism, exacerbated by consumerism with corporate marketing-(turned to political messaging?) buy/do/ more to enhance the self, most countries now dominant thinking>>neo> individuals and their families and that is it, core of pathway our culture is leading to destruction look at implications? other conceptions of self in historical culture, modern science ontologically wrong,

I don’t know that splitting is available as an option.

Kathryn, thank you for offering the title again: The Patterning Instinct. We are in the “place” of repatterning, and I’d like to hear more about that…

MKS” Erich Fromm: Capitalismturns us all into commodities to sell on the market to find a romantic partner…this much … to be marketed to …similar value, evaluating constantly (Weight control, fashion, swiping left, all training courses, certifications, proofing)  Facebook social proofing, self marketing

Interesting Kathryn - recommend the book - thank you

I don’t feel they have adequately discussed the trump pathology

They young people are yearning for the repatterning!!

I think that once you have had to deal with a Narcissist you find the table helpful and very clear

Daniel. Richard Barrett who spoke to HR a while ago - tells a very simple story to help understand Mr T. Will email you xx

Diane, bring it to AfterChat please!

Cable helpful…

YAY spell check Label

;)

And I think we are “torn apart” from what really matters… family, land, greater meanings

We feel “torn apart”

Awwww - was avoiding adding this but - another thing at 5 (30 mins from now) and ANOTHER ONE at six!! Can't come to Afterchat. V sad xxx Actually - will email you and Daniel now xxx Good info!!

Diane - p;ease send!!

thx & sad. Oh well, soon!

JL: self>>>fun on Facebook >>>young people significantly more neurotic tendencies, someone normal now 40 years ago would be considered neurotic/narcissistic, deeper history, how embedded the self in Western CUlture> millennia, Christian, ancient Greeks, traditional prescient pre sense of soul, if you are a good person,. body dies and souls is truly you as a self, if good you’ll end up in heaven, how do you feel about those who do not make it in Hell? Purges memories is part of the Christian myth: we exist as separate individuals and this is what we look out for, Protestant ethic, core Christian to Protestantism to Capitalism, Asian culture, formed thru relationships, discuss themselves, members of groups in relation to communities/companies sets of relationships, Xpand to living EARTH< self being all of life, interconnected way, continuation of indigenous thought, (WE BELONG TO EACH OTHER!) relationship Lakota (All my relations-we are all related) different values/actions in the world, if we saw ourselves

Barrett’s ideas are very good.  But let’s not forget that our world is a result of the development of self-awareness.  E.g., from Owen Barfield (Saving the Appearances): "The elimination of original participation involves a contraction of human consciousness from periphery to center - a contraction from the cosmos of wisdom to something like a purely brain activity - but by the same token it involves an awakening. For we awake, out of universal - into self-consciousness.”

This is a good documentary on Control and how it shaped Western desires of how life should be  https://youtu.be/giQxUkZ4Anc

puts things into  a better perspective

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:32 AM)

MKS: we as commodities- TOUGH, but if we saw ourselves in relations>>Care more fore others, focus on relationships

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:34 AM)

at least you didn’t wear your difference on the outside…

sorry,  we all have burdens - I honour yours.

Penelope Benians to Panelists and Attendees (11:35 AM)

it’s still stuck in its imperialist past!

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:38 AM)

JL:England, Jewish community, neurosis> as opposed to USA, felt their sufferance from WWII holocaust, born in post  holocaust generation, silenced identity, to stifle risk, self actualization of r60’s/70’s rebel against all of this, hung out with anarchists, messed up society, escape Thatcher’s England>>>Reagan’s America, married someone who had been a LAtin American traveling hippie with a good start in USA, studied at U of Chicago w=home of Milton Friedman-corporate thinking central, all working for themselves invisible hand working-bought into it and lived it for a while , capitalist dot com boom, wife got sick, company failed, wife went thru mental challenges, alone with all that he built broken, internal investigation, sense of self>>>MEANING? not taking anyone else word, depp Xploration, what is a path that is truly meaning full, sense of self>>>So many variant paths for making sense of our realities>>>does not have to be stuck in these senses of selves, taking granted>>>Dangerous/not true/not scietific

Kathryn Alexander, MA to Panelists and Attendees (11:38 AM)

One of the wonderful things I took away from Jeremy’s book was that there was a time when there was no concept of evil - think about how different a world that would be...

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:38 AM)

grieving the future we thought  we had…

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:38 AM)

Exactly - phew (just hearing while I write - good job I'm bionic hahaha) but - IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY!!!  Yaaaay. Apologies about the caps xxx Thank you Jeremy

Crystal to Panelists and Attendees (11:39 AM)

Wonderful transition to Toltec Wisdom class that follows today in part, “Releasing the Elements of Self.”

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:39 AM)

MKS: Grieving the future you though you had, climate emergency, told future is bright, progress, life plan seemed good, and accelerating climate emergency, plans were not going to happen>>>Capitalist road crashed and did not work, science of more connected self, Alternative to American me first?

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:40 AM)

Yes, Kathryn. Another book too - Human Kindness - Rutger Bregman. Humans are good really!!!!!

AMY A BLUMENSHINE to Panelists and Attendees (11:40 AM)

I spend some time saying goodbye to fossil fuel vehicles/engines…It was fun for awhile, too bad it’s killing us!  I imagine the better way.

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:41 AM)

yes, AMY, me too. I imagine most of the factories closed - we don't need five days a week jobs. UBI

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:41 AM)

I’m in on that, Amy & Diane…

Kathryn Alexander, MA to Panelists and Attendees (11:41 AM)

Diane - YES. I never bought into all of that. My background with Kashmir Shivaism sort of eliminated all of that.

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:42 AM)

Human beings are feelers… Gaia’s feelers!

AMY A BLUMENSHINE to Panelists and Attendees (11:43 AM)

Dacher Keltner excellent work

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:44 AM)

Lovely Jeremy - again - Human Kindness Rutger B.  - totally opposite to Richard Dawkins and co

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:44 AM)

JL: The Web of Meaning integrating science finding our places in the universe, existential ?’s in life, mainstream thinking now is wrong, told humans are self interested, communism did not work for this vein of thinking, cognitive anthropologists say that what makes humans is that we have sense of shared identity, dealt with dangerous savanna, work together in community, prehuman hominids, males want to dominate, not survive in society ostracized community would kill to become more secure, not just from our head, Richard Dawkins embeds What is a scientific selfish gene? Use higher rationality-MISCONCEPTION, we feel our sense of shared compassion, shared identity, evolved over millions of years, gut feeling with t acting in uncaring ways of community, Shared culture is telling us we should be one way when our true human Xtinct is to be connected with community/nature/, reality with we share the bulk of our way of being is shared with deep animated intelligence, new sense of self, Arne Ness: Ecological Self

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:44 AM)

Life and LOVE!!! That's the conscious bit!!!

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:45 AM)

JL: I AM LIFE! share all of what Earth is going thru now>>>Different way of relating to each other/Earth/Species

AMY A BLUMENSHINE to Panelists and Attendees (11:45 AM)

Oxytocin is a very helpful biological presence in the shared biome

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:45 AM)

I am Life and I am You and You are me and we are LOVE - yaaaaay!!!

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:46 AM)

Yay, Diane, indeed!

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:46 AM)

yes, this system is messed up!!! Time for change!! That's why we, HR, are here, yes?

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:47 AM)

MKS: Twist ourselves to justify unjustifiable conditions, people growing up wealthy, with servants, closest relationships are hired help and live in much worse conditions, what does a child understand from that upbringing>>>BETTERNESS understanding, child can not discern system is messed up, homeless people, how do we justify this? hard Xterior, or say they are bad people, so not feel heartbroken to Xperience

Daniel Rieders to Panelists and Attendees (11:47 AM)

yes Diane

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:48 AM)

So loads of houses that are empty (owned by property players) and other people living on the street.

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:48 AM)

So what do you do? Talk to them!!! Love them!!!

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:48 AM)

The system CAN be changed - Oh’Gs, we must talk, decide and choose a better way.

Marcia Raff to Panelists and Attendees (11:49 AM)

But you don’t know how they will respond.  They may have a mental problem and attack you.

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:49 AM)

I do - good job we have lockdown in a way - it stopped me taking in all and sundry. And exactly - forget climate breakdown - we treat all life with disrespect -including each other!!

Sarita Patel to Panelists and Attendees (11:50 AM)

The Housing Issue in Marin County is one I’ve been watching for about 20 years. I’ve seen how the crisis can be stopped to turn things around fir everyone including the billionaire who receives direct joy when life grows around.

Liliane Mavridara to Panelists and Attendees (11:50 AM)

Diane, in San Francisco, when you learn CPR the paramedics tell you to not give mouth to mouth support to homeless folks if is needed.

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:50 AM)

JL: USA: Bay area mega billionaires with so many homeless on the streets because they rich do not pay sufficiently for greatest social good, that living person is still right there before us suffering, macrocosm same with living EARTH, takes work to unravel hard edge we tell ourselves, beginning to connect with living EARTH causes our own pain (SO AGREE!) we are nature defending ourselves, we do feel this destruction/breaking down emergency, derailing all of civilization and ecological depredation of any life, 90% of species are losing at ever greater paces, civilization is destroying the abundance in EARTH, feels deep, LONELY, engulfing, how can we be doing this destruction of beauty? Courage to face this, so painful, danger is to look away…

AMY A BLUMENSHINE to Panelists and Attendees (11:50 AM)

I think this pain is part of the deep suffering of our indigenous neighbors

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:50 AM)

Marcia - give them love and it all works out. Lose any fear and love pulls you thought xxxxx

through -

not thought

Kathryn Alexander, MA to Panelists and Attendees (11:51 AM)

One of the gifts of enlightenment is the willingness and ability to face and hold thet pain. Few talk about that.

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:51 AM)

Share love. It really works!!

Give your energy actually xxx

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:51 AM)

JL: community is so important, none of us are meant to face this alone, hold the suffering of others in our own hands, sharing beyond just suffering, moving into engagement into ACTION-YES!!! We listen to what life is saying, take energy engage in it, feel into the suffering and feel into the potential for life to survive and thrive

Doreen Tanenbaum to Panelists and Attendees (11:52 AM)

Share more Sarital…

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:52 AM)

(not so much take - more give) xxx

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:52 AM)

change our minds/change our trajectory

marilyn monk to Panelists and Attendees (11:52 AM)

unconditional service

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:52 AM)

Totally Marilyn xxx

Marcia Raff to Panelists and Attendees (11:53 AM)

Dianes, I wonder it that’s naive because they are not accountable for their actions if they are in the midst of some mental disorder.

Kathryn Alexander, MA to Panelists and Attendees (11:53 AM)

Amy I think you are correct!

AMY A BLUMENSHINE to Panelists and Attendees (11:53 AM)

Pope Francis talks about our common home.  We need to raise the hearth/homeandnurture aspect of earth care.

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:53 AM)

MKS: Pope Francis: Laudato Si, feel into it, bear the unbearable, trajectory of climate>>>apocalypse, LOSE EVERYTHING! ALL LIFE IS THREATENED NOW, anything more painful? Leave the illusion of self

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:53 AM)

Gaia has gone through this before, cyclically. We have changed her cycles. If not, the Extinction would be much farther ahead.

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:54 AM)

Pope Francis on climate: https://www.ted.com/talks/his_holiness_pope_francis_our_moral_imperative_to_act_on_climate_change_and_3_steps_we_can_take/transcript?language=en

Kathryn Alexander, MA to Panelists and Attendees (11:54 AM)

Marita - can we connect? I’m dealing with housing in spokane and I’d love to here what you have been noticing!

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:54 AM)

We are here to start anew cycle of love and connection.

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:54 AM)

I remain naïve - deliberately. with faith. And love. I do get into trouble but - more with people telling me I'm stupid and naïve than with the ones who yes, often do have mental health problems. But it's always OK. I love them more easily than I love the 'proper' people!!

MALINI Rajendran to Panelists and Attendees (11:55 AM)

Extinction of civilisation - which civilisation - one that is based on greed, selfishness, economic  hegemony, exploitation of other cultures based on the doctrine of discovery, a civilisation that thrives of creating fear and disempowerment well its high time this civilisation became extinct.

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:55 AM)

Kathryn and Sarita, I hope to hear what’s  said - talk in the AfterChat please1!

“hedonic  treadmill”

Diane Skidmore to Panelists and Attendees (11:56 AM)

Oh gosh. Gotta go. Might make it back xxx

AMY A BLUMENSHINE to Panelists and Attendees (11:56 AM)

Diane, not naive, but loving.  Love tends to call out love — but it doesn’t always work!

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:56 AM)

JL: Current world view is on separation (MAKE AMERICA GREAT) global based economy in the wake of this destruction headed to catastrophe nothing we can do, I as a person separating myself 30,000 foot view, we concrete our future thru connectedness, interconnection, not heroines, but by connecting with forces for life, we are as life, are able to achieve/protect more, power imperative for positive way, be not too disconnected with those who are bothered, hedonic treadmill (74 million voted for t, 81 million for Biden)

Sarita Patel to Panelists and Attendees (11:56 AM)

-Doreen- I helped purchase many homes for my employer over the course of 2 decades. at some early point- I insisted on renting the homes out at affordable- not market affordable- affordable. the empty houses filled- created a community of caring neighbors and families. nothing was separate. we had ZERO security which costs millions for wealthy - because the neighborhood looked after each other. i know how to do this but it took a build of trust. the benefactor became more generous heart without being told. it just happened.

Dear Sarita, thank you… I want more! ;)

(to hear more, I mean!)

AMY A BLUMENSHINE to Panelists and Attendees (11:58 AM)

Thanks, Sarita.  Important insight.

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (11:58 AM)

JL: concerns with new administration, focus on unity lead to compromise-politics, if someone denies climate crisis finding a middle ground is not the solution, as Nacy Pelosi says STAND OUR GROUND, invite “others” into a way of connecting with people so they feel belonging, even if fascistic behaving, not feeling good about themselves, offer people onramps so life affirming, focus on connection with living earth and people shifting to positive future!

Sarita Patel to Panelists and Attendees (11:59 AM)

I will share more and would love to- I can’t make the after share

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (11:59 AM)

more small group conversations!! Yay!

AMY A BLUMENSHINE to Panelists and Attendees (11:59 AM)

Too many people have been brutalized by their circumstances. Have come to protect/deny their authentic selves.

Doreen Tanenbaum to Panelists and Attendees (11:59 AM)

Sarita…beautiful way to support change naturally. Thank you!

Jen Forti to Panelists and Attendees (11:59 AM)

How do we connect with “them” and talk to “them” about the realities of climate change without trying to convince them?

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (12:00 PM)

MKS: hosting small group calls in and answers discussion prompts, how do you feel about climate emergency? Explore issues/pain together, too much to do alone, do not have people in their lives, CLIMATEAWAKENING.org

Doreen Tanenbaum to Panelists and Attendees (12:02 PM)

I agree !

MALINI Rajendran to Panelists and Attendees (12:02 PM)

climate emergency ? climate change is just a symptom. Why don't we talk about the causes. like 1. desist from the current industrial complex hold on the economy. 2. ban all current agricultural practices that are based on fertilisers and pesticides.3. Ban the mass anilma farms. 4  Ban water pollution and air pollution. 5.ban all vehicles running on hydrocarbon . and the list goes on.

AMY A BLUMENSHINE to Panelists and Attendees (12:03 PM)

we are so capable of caring community, way beyond a “bubble” of well fed, “safe” people who get to hug and hang out. that is a place of privilege. my heart goes to the refugee camps, food bank lines, terror of losing homes....

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (12:05 PM)

JL: paradoxical way in which our sense of self has been shifted from the pandemic, shown greater separations in our society, Xtreme: inequalities, health, wealth, more aware of how one group lives one way and another group lives another way, 50 million lost jobs, billionaires increased wealth by a $trillion, K shaped economic recovery, collaboration for vaccine development, (intergenerational youth with apps figuring out vaccinating) communities sense of shared help, more strongly come out, (VAIL 1/4 LatinX workers on Food banks support all funded by the wealthy) Global planetary consciousness> cosmolocalism, glocalism> we look at our roots in community, cosmopolitism of shared humanity in Earth, shift the way both local & Global, COVID19 has pushed both directions together

Kathryn Alexander, MA to Panelists and Attendees (12:05 PM)

Whole consciousness - that is what I’m working for in my Regenerative Training. WE MUST gain this awareness to be able to act ethically. More on that Saturday’s Deep Dive.

Sarita Patel to Panelists and Attendees (12:07 PM)

RUthe Schoder-Ehri,Squaxin land to Panelists and Attendees (12:08 PM)

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (12:08 PM)

MKS: Xperience of isolation from others is Xtreme (I saw 12 people in 10  months recovering from COVID19-all but 4 were food delivery people_I now love being a hermit-SURPRISE!) she’s now missing social relating, in climate conversation, such taboo about sacrifice, Green New Deal guilty, say there will be jobs, new tech, stop climate change, do not talk about giving things up, not everyone having every convenience/comfort, to cancel appocollypse we can not keep living the way we do in wealthy countries, there will be easier than what we have given up for COVID (I’ve not seen family for 1+ year) Look at how much people will change their lives in an emergency, may miss some conveniences/tropical acas, but we can be together

RUthe Schoder-Ehri,Squaxin land to Panelists and Attendees (12:09 PM)

sacrifice: making something sacred. offering something .... I do love this

I’ve pretty much stopped shopping and restaurant eating since Feb. Personally, I have not suffered from it. Most people who work in restaurants would be happy to have a different job.

MALINI Rajendran to Panelists and Attendees (12:11 PM)

Thankyou for saying there is no such thing as green growth.  Like there is no such thing as biodegradable PLastic.

MALINI Rajendran to Panelists and Attendees (12:12 PM)

So why are we calling countries that do not have the levels of growth and development as western countries as backward. If what is needed is to live a simpler and more connected to earth lifestyle.

Kat Haber to Panelists and Attendees (12:12 PM)

JL: Sacrifice: making something sacred, being part of a religious ritual, offering something to something meaningful, not giving something up, we are substituting by conditioned hedonic treadmill, more/bigger/, instead quality over quantity of our lives, Europe regrowth movement, most are afraid to see the growth-based economy, no such thing as green growth, have to downsize oour consumerism, labeling of regrowth does not inspire millions, we can e growing the quality of our lives instead, improving rather than sacrificing, invest in public transport, make life hastlefree, bring containers to restaurants, enjoy these without causing mindless destruction of environment, meat eating>>>meatlessness!!! vegan alternatives not a sense of sacrifice feels better to body and make this change

Shannon McArthur to Panelists and Attendees (12:12 PM)

David Stoney to Panelists and Attendees (12:13 PM)

Thanks, Malini.  Yep, psychohistorical (ruling) trend is to protect the elite, their wealth, and property. We are, in a real sense, slaves to their wants.

MALINI Rajendran to Panelists and Attendees (12:14 PM)

Yes that's what all indigenous societies focus on and they were called savage and barbarians by the west.
