Interestingly, in work on the issue of reparations in Boston, Massachusetts, in working with community groups, we were able to achieve 2 historic things: (1) an apology from the Boston City Council for the role that Boston played during slavery; and (2) establishing a Reparations Task Force to come up with recommendations for “repair” work in Boston re: descendants of Africa and slavery in Boston.

I am glad I listened I also listened to this talk. Yesterday I left because I could not feel that forgiveness can be the answer and connected it with a weak response, because it does not create a new platform. But with the word of Jim Apology, there is this aspect of recognition of wrongness is part of the response. Then a sense of what is right and wrong is still part of the picture. I also feel that Love and real peace do ask deep inner work. I feel our situation is so dire, that the response should look for deep ground to stand on. The violence that has been exposed by Israel with the support of the US is just shocking and the fact. That it has continued for 15 month, is for me and many other humans all over the world a shocking experience. For me the first ‘turn around’ should be deep self-reflection and requires both objective and subjective frames. I do want to thank you for bringing on people who did do this self-reflection and share their experience, it takes courage and daring to fin a new culture
