One paradigm that has driven our civilization into a destructive path is the tendency to inflate the role of rationality, while devaluing and subjugating the more “yin,” receptive and softer kinds of intelligences such as emotional, somatic and intuitive intelligence. Meanwhile, this tendency actually stunts the growth of healthy rationality as our ego attaches to the false rationality of hidden, repressed emotions, sabotaging our wellbeing, integrity and objective thinking.

In today’s session, with Spring Cheng, Joe Shirley, co-founders of the Resonance Path, will present psychotopology coaching, a groundbreaking methodology to restore feeling as the inner compass.

In psychotopology, feeling is a term referring to a fundamental faculty of perception that is both grounded in the body and extends into space through and beyond the visible masses of the body. When we ground our perceptions into feeling, we may tap into hidden dimensions and unlived potential enfolded in our consciousness.

Psychotopology is a science and practice that engages with a rigorous mindfulness inquiry to investigate the topological configuration of feeling through inner sensory faculties. This method enables us to transform the imprints of our ancestral and inter-generational traumas, while reuniting with the repressed, subjugated parts of us that want to be enlivened. In addition, this practice fosters an emotional and psychological thriving that enables the growth of a healthy, robust rationality.

This session is an introduction to the module: Psychotopology Coaching – A Groundbreaking Methodology to Restore Feeling as the Inner Compass.

Joe Shirley is the co-founder of Resonance Path. He asks big questions about the nature of being and seeks answers to those questions through his life-long practice and experimentation of focused awareness. Over the past thirty years, he has developed Feelingwork, a radical new approach that connects with one’s innate source of vitality and wholeness, while navigating through the most difficult and traumatic terrain of individual and collective consciousness, restoring our natural access to thriving. Currently, Joe focuses on developing and teaching psychotopology, a new, first-person science of subjective experience, providing a much-needed update to modern approaches to mental health and well-being, as well as catalyze new research of consciousness and the nature of humanity.

Dr. Spring Cheng, co-founder of Resonance Path and creator of Living Resonance Leadership, is a mentor and guide for inner transformation. Her work integrates Tao with artistic expression, scientific inquiry and psychospiritual healing. She is passionate about empowering people to birth a culture that celebrates inter-connectedness, harmony, and beauty. Spring spent the first half of her life in traditional, pre-industrialized China and the latter half in the US. She received a doctoral degree in molecular biology and masters in acupuncture. She founded the Living Resonance Leadership MA/PhD program. Spring connects with the native Spirit of China through ancient poetry, singing and qigong Tai Chi. In 2023, ten of her songs composed over ancient Chinese poetry were featured in documentary movie Dancing with the Dead. Spring is the author of Resonance Code – Empowering Leaders to Evolve Toward Wholeness. Her current writings can be found at here.
