Bringing compassion into society at scale is humanity's next big challenge. How do we do so in a Capitalistic framework? Are Compassion and Capitalism at odds? The Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) were identified, a small team of people quickly recognized that they could not be achieved without Inner Development Goals(IDGs) also being achieved. Lily Becker is a facilitator, capacity-builder, and connection weaver passionate about helping human and natural communities confront and adapt to an uncertain future. She finds meaning in working to support the people and organizations working to address the climate crisis and build a resilient future.
She has nearly a decade of experience working on climate change with a focus on strategic planning, coalition and network building, professional development and training, and building psychological resilience to confront ecological grief and anxiety.
Father Joshtrom Kureethadam
Fr. Joshstrom Kureethadam is Chair of Philosophy of Science and Director of the Institute of Social and Political Sciences at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome. He is also a consultant to the Vatican and previously served as Coordinator of the Sector of “Ecology” at the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.
He has been particularly associated with the study and diffusion of Laudato Si; Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter on Care for Our Common Home.
Some of his publications include “Creation in Crisis: Science, Ethics and Theology” (Orbis Books 2014), “The Philosophical Roots of the Ecological Crisis” (Cambridge Scholars, 2017), “The Ten Green Commandments of Laudato Si (Liturgical Press 2019).
