Michael Nagler
- Michael Nagler is Professor Emeritus of Classics and Comparative Literature at UC Berkeley. He is the President of the Metta Center For Non-Violence and author of The Search for a Non-Violent Future and The Third Harmony.
Michael Nagler is Professor of Classics and Comparative Literature, emeritus, at the University of California, Berkeley and teaches in the Peace and Conflict Studies Program he founded on that campus in the 1970’s. In addition to teaching at Berkeley he frequently speaks for media and the general public on issues of peace and nonviolence and does presentations around the world for the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation. Michael has written six books and contributes articles frequently to Tikkun, YES! magazine and many other progressive journals. He has consulted for the U.S. Institute of Peace and many organizations and projects dealing with nonviolence and world peace. Michael is the Founder/President of The Metta Center and Director of “The Third Harmony”.
