Day151 Returning to the Root: Contemplation and Stillness as a Pathway of Integration with Mary Magdalene as a Guide
During this first week of Advent, we turn to the theme of inner contemplation and renewal through practices of silence and presence. The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, an early Christian scripture recovered in the late 19th century in Egypt and first translated into English in our time, presents a pathway of inner awakening rooted in contemplation, silence and practices of remembering the Good, the True and the Beautiful. We will explore the parallels of this fascinating text with both Buddhism and Neo-Platonism as an invitation to return to our deepest truth and celebrate the some of the many faces of Mary Magdalene emerging through artists of our time that are reclaiming her as a figure of wisdom, blessing, embodiment and healing for both women and men.
