Had not the religious identification of basically a people of close ethnicities                                                                                                                                                                   was a consequence of previous invadors, and that was part of the ancient resentments? Muslims from the conquest by Istamboul, Orthodox from the Greece and Russia,  Catholics from the Roman empire. Also influences from the Austro-Hungarian empire. Might not have gotten all these right, but this is a land inhabited since the Neolithic, and of multiple invasions.  Archetypes of war reawakening?

Being like a war zone her in Seattle, and not being able to go out restaurants were closed and finding new ways to survive.
