   Jude, I totally agree with your view. I was blessed with a father, who raised me to be able to do anything--that is still a problem with many males still. It seems a DNA problem that relying upon physical strength is all; i.e. war, domination, abuse.

   Anneloes is on  point: Men are trained not to feel comfortable with being held, etc. but to fight--sadly. But there's hope among the younger generations at least in Wester cultures but don't know about other spheres, like the Middle East.

   Joan, My experience is that Middle Eastern men DO accept the feminine in themselves BUT there is confusion about what a man is. The warrior has taken over as their culture wrestles with the recognition of something is wrong with the changes happening and not knowing what it is and how to deal with it. I see much of that is the recognition that the Western way is wrong in many ways even as it is seductive.

   My mother was a battered woman with nine children.  We were abused.  I was a battered wife.  I stayed for thirty years.  It's years later and now the deep sadness and the anger is present.  I left my husband twenty years ago, he has passed away two years ago.  I look to being more present and to see the beauty, but that's not where I am at this time.
