Humanity Rising Day 83

Topic:

NextGen 2030: Integral Actions for Everyday Life

Since before COVID19, many groups have worked to chart a better way of life for our global societies. The SDG 2030 Agenda, Codes for a Healthy Earth, and Wheel of Creation, among many others, offer viable frameworks for how to organize and generate coherence in our collective efforts.

In this session, the Humanity Rising NextGen Team will introduce the NextGen2030 Project, which aims to connect these larger visions and global goals with practical actions each one of us - and our communities - can take in everyday life to help us reach a more thriving, just, and sustainable world by 2030.

Presenters:

  • Raji Jayasinghe, Press Officer and VP for Asia, Ubiquity University
  • Veronica Saldias, Registrar, Ubiquity University
  • Shelot Masitihi, Social Activist and Global Goals Ambassador, University of Limpopo
  • Matt Robertson, Executive Assistant to the President, Ubiquity University

From Michelle Kidd to All panelists and other attendees: (11:13 AM)

šŸ’“ Victoria

From Liliane Mavridara to All panelists and other attendees: (11:14 AM)

@Matt. what are your plans for the group?

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:16 AM)

I note that this group has not yet addressed the UN Office of the future - in ANY way. a very strange situation.

We also note that your activities have not addressed the notions brought forth by Jeremy RIvkin - the notion of zero marginal cost.'

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:17 AM)

we also note that the creation wheel that you are addressing wwas known as the co-creation wheel of Barbara Marx Hubbard.

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:18 AM)

the Next gen wheel is miscoloured. unfortunately those at Ubiquity never paid attention to the primary wheel developed by BMH and this wheel of co-creation!!!

From Me to All panelists and other attendees: (11:20 AM)

One thing that needs to be worked on, is to help the thousands of groups working on the issues listed in the Encyclopedia of World Problems and Human Potential. That website is an amazing way to link to and help the various groups around the world where people have organized to address the issues facing the world.

From Veronica Saldias to All panelists and other attendees: (11:20 AM)

thank you very much for all your inputs

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:20 AM)

all good as an exploring of the primary wheel - but having a colour scheme that can not be used as a teaching tool. it does provide an outline of course, but if you look at the work of Veronica, and yous see what she is doing in her workbook - she gives a functionality for a recolored wheel.

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:21 AM)

next step for this group is to support the actions of Brock Pierce for President of the United States -

the UN Office of the Future will be launching on September 21st and will be supporting Brock Pierce for President

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:24 AM)

And as Paul Hawken said - If all these millions of small organisations (literally) could find a way to unite and integrate their wishes and dreams, we would have a happy, kind and considerate world. There are so many more of us than 'them'. So..... Conscious, considerate, constructive, helpful offers are welcome.

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:25 AM)

reality is well beyond what you are identifying. what a limited initiating vision? If this is to be known as an integral framework - one must first learn a new word - learn and use - PO. this word has somehow managed to escape those at Ubiquity University. yes and no are unfortunately not enough. your framework is faulty by design.

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:26 AM)

@Mitchell - solutions?

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:26 AM)

how fast can you run backwards??

From Tammy Muter to All panelists and other attendees: (11:26 AM)

Bad day Mitchell?

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:26 AM)

@Mitchell - is running backwards a solution?

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:27 AM)

organizing an Integral framework must be redesigned. your presenting this as a done deal is faulty and contrary to your own founding principles.

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:28 AM)

@Mitchell - they're actually asking for comments - this is NOT a 'done deal'. It's time for us to work together. Ways forward please xxx

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:29 AM)

Diane - it could be - as the master Hayoka teachers explain - running backwards does demonstrate a particular mastery - but it is done with intention.

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:30 AM)

Lessons in emotional intelligence - yes please!! Quickly!! hahaha

From Veronica Saldias to All panelists and other attendees: (11:30 AM)

http://nextgen2030.com

From Veronica Saldias to All panelists and other attendees: (11:30 AM)

Thank you for your inputs and kind words, we are still working on this :)

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:30 AM)

Today I had contact with someone who teaches meditation in school. One school in the UK - it's a start!!!

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:31 AM)

as for my comments. I have presented all my ideas to UBIQUITY at the initiating phase of the development of Humanity rising - ie the development of the UN Ofifice of the Future, PO, ISO 26000, Beyond Triple Bottom Line and UNDRIP. as well as the TOPS program.

From Jen Forti to All panelists and other attendees: (11:31 AM)

so spot on!

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:31 AM)

I am moving the futures agenda forward, and as near as I can see Humanity Rising is moving us backwards.

From Jim Garrison to All panelists and other attendees: (11:31 AM)

everything at Ubiquity is in the spirit of truth pursued, not truth possessed. Humanity Rising and the Next Gen framework is an experiment in truth.

From Bruce Schuman to All panelists and other attendees: (11:33 AM)

Gandhi's Autobiography was about his "experiments in truth"

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:33 AM)

Teaching meditation in school is certainly a minimum basic concept. in 1990 we began teaching a new breathing exercise every year to demonstrate the efficacy of each breathing technique - and to not select one over another as each technique has a different effect on the physical mental emotional and spiritual understaning.

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:33 AM)

@Mitchell - yes, it was a serious question (running backwards). It may well have a purpose. Re your ides - maybe more conversation is needed. I'm pretty sure it would be welcomed!!

ideas - apologies - typo

From Dmitri Zaitsev to All panelists and other attendees: (11:34 AM)

@Michael - is there a discussion forum for longer discussions?

From Jane to All panelists and other attendees: (11:34 AM)

In terms of soft skills in education, you are preaching to the choir here Raji. However the difficulties I have continually faced as an educator lies at the Leadership level and the constant reluctance to recognize, appreciate the need and allocate priority to the soft skills.

From Dmitri Zaitsev to All panelists and other attendees: (11:35 AM)

apologies: @Mitchell

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:35 AM)

the Ten Transformers that was develop by the Vision Changer Project certainly offers a simple tool for self evaluation

From Georg Boch to All panelists and other attendees: (11:38 AM)

yes, everything is recorded

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:39 AM)

@Jane - agree - it's the education SYSTEM that needs change - very difficult. And another reason why we were handed corona (I think). However - how to suggest our (choral) ideas to the block (for want of a word)? I guess we're working on it. I veer between excitement and faith and the odd moment of despair. Despair is there very rarely tho - I have faith that something else is happening as we speak. We just have to keep on pushing!!! :-D xxx And ideas for a new way and how to achieve it - I do have some. maybe we'll keep in touch xxx

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:39 AM)

if this is an experiment in Truth, which I hoped it to be, Jim Garrison has not yet embraced any one of the ideas we presented at the beginning of this exercise.- I had hoped that some growth was experienced over the ten yarss since UBIQUIT was formed - but alas I think this experience puts us back ten years even though cloaking ourselves in the pandemic..

From Michelle Kidd to All panelists and other attendees: (11:41 AM)

I went to a University that was part of the Erasmus programme so the makeup of the group was 50% British andšŸ’“. Michelle 50% students from the rest of the World. It was an Amazing experience and I Learned So Much. Particularly watching the similaries and differences. It is an Experience I cherish

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:41 AM)

The most significant thing about the pandemic is in the relationship to the Triple Bottom Line Reporting Standards of corporations. Health now becomes one of the pillars of understanding the reporting model. GAAP does not yet incorporate Triple Bottom Line fully and those paying attention have moved to Beyond TBL. - where is Ubiquity on Accounting systems and their reporting considerations - at the TBL level ? or Beyond TBL? declare yourselves.

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (11:42 AM)

I am very impressed with the mutual trust and respect MTR and capacities of expression demonstrated by the Next Gen who are speaking. Imo it would be a great act of MTR for us to listen to them and not argue theory in the chat - there are other places we could do that :-)

From Mitchell Gold to All panelists and other attendees: (11:42 AM)

I am where I am .

From Michelle Kidd to All panelists and other attendees: (11:43 AM)

I don't understand MTR, what does it mean please šŸ’–

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (11:43 AM)

Mutual Trust and Respect

From Michelle Kidd to All panelists and other attendees: (11:44 AM)

Thank you Marilyn

From Jane to All panelists and other attendees: (11:44 AM)

My experience is that teachers and students enjoy and readily accept and appreciate the need for the 'soft skills' to be part of their daily curriculum. However, those at the top of the Education heirarchy are so entrenched in continuing on the same 'old'track So it requires a shift in consciousness at the leadership levels.

From Me to All panelists and other attendees: (11:44 AM)

@Mitchel - Please share links here to your writings. We'd like to learn more of your opinions and ideas that can fit in this chat. Thank you.

From Victoria Schwarz Schwarz to All panelists and other attendees: (11:45 AM)

Veronica, thank you for telling this story, one of exploration and then valuing what you have found.

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:45 AM)

@Mitchel. Over the last 82 sessions there are two big comments that have been running. Firstly - we are all one - and in which case, what we feel , we share so - important to be conscious of ideas that we are 'seeding'. (As I write - what the young girl is saying - "our ability to create") As individuals we MUST create helpful stuff - if our ideas are rejected, maybe they need to be put forward in a different way. Or maybe they just don't fit. And that's important. the second BIG issue has been LOVE. What is love? Well, that's debatable of course but - consideration and kindness are a big part. Gotta stop - need to pay more attention to the speakers xxx

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (11:45 AM)

Thanks Vera - I love that you are both Registrar and passionate artist ... makes me feel like Ubiquity will welcome creativity as they learn

From Victoria Schwarz Schwarz to All panelists and other attendees: (11:46 AM)

you can be creative in so many ways, for me, creating businesses with others is play and creative

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:48 AM)

@Victoria Yes!! A double gift - play AND creative!!

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (11:49 AM)

I think thatā€™s true in the cities too. I certainly see that happening here i the US.

From Veronica Saldias to All panelists and other attendees: (11:49 AM)

yes!!! it is! creativity is that too :)

thank you so much for your lovely comments

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (11:49 AM)

Yes - why is that true that misinformation travels faster then the truthā€¦.

From Jane to All panelists and other attendees: (11:50 AM)

Anything that is not 'Academic' (cognitive domain) never seems to have the same value or being just as important to health and well being as the the soft'skills' (Affective Domain).

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:51 AM)

And @Jane, sadly most teachers are restricted (in the UK at least) by the National Curriculum - in my language - 'How to get a job'. The sooner we leave this behind, the better. Life is about more than getting a job" (Obvs)

From Victoria Schwarz Schwarz to All panelists and other attendees: (11:51 AM)

I love that piece that Veronica said about taking a break. once, when I was working 3 jobs, running from one to the other, my then boyfriend told me that every couple/ few years it is important to take breaks for months to explore what is the next step, to be open to new experiences and possibilities. when he told me this, so many years ago, I thought he was crazy. But I took his advice and have taken a few long breaks and I have recreated myself several times as a result. breaks allow one to be open, create a space for the next wonderful thing that makes a life full of richness, grace and blessings from within and from others

From Paul Coleman to All panelists and other attendees: (11:51 AM)

I would like to thank all the presenters here today, and Jim Garrison, Peter Merry and Ubiquity for these wonderful talks that have brought so many bright caring, loving and optimistic people together.

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (11:52 AM)

Thanks Shelot - love your passion for taking responsibility for verifying truth (as best we can these days) before we pass along misinformation

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (11:52 AM)

@Victoria - Yes and that is what the pandemic offers, if we take advantage

From Michelle Kidd to All panelists and other attendees: (11:52 AM)

Agree Paul

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (11:52 AM)

I hope these slides will be on Universeā€¦

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (11:52 AM)

The leaders who impress me most are always the ones who are willing to learn publicly and admit they have learned some reason to change their minds.

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:52 AM)

@Paul Agree!! Thank you all here (attendees too)

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (11:53 AM)

@Marilyn - Yes - Hi!

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (11:53 AM)

@Kathryn - hi :-)

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:53 AM)

'Your own value system' - is that a soft skill? Certainly needs to be taught in school - how to define your own values!!!

From MALINI Rajendran to All panelists and other attendees: (11:53 AM)

the way misleading information is worded, put together and framed to make it more attractive to the recipient. also misinformation caters to the baser nature of mankind, so it's more effective. whilst it's the very nature of truth to be devoid of all such subterfuge.

From Liliane Mavridara to All panelists and other attendees: (11:54 AM)

Small school with huge reputation :)

From Me to All panelists and other attendees: (11:54 AM)

Dear Mitchel, other Chat PEOPLE and panelists, too..ā€ØSome of us are gathering in a Zoom meeting after this session closes. Please write to me if you would like to participate (even if you can't join us today) and don't already have the Zoom link. I have also created an email list for us to interact without being on at the same time.ā€Østan@communitymagic.org

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:54 AM)

@Marilyn - Totally agree!!! the ability to admit that you're wrong - in public especially!!! Huge respect.

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (11:55 AM)

@Malini - yes those strategies to twist misinformation are unfortunate realities that we need to perhaps learn how to aikido??? (i.e. take the hit as a gift??)

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:55 AM)

In fact, we need to encourage others to make mistakes - making mistakes is the most fun and the biggest way to learn. Whereas our society as it stands praises - 'the best' - boring hahaha

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (11:55 AM)

Loved Naropa when I was in boulderā€¦

From Victoria Schwarz Schwarz to All panelists and other attendees: (11:56 AM)

Lynne Twist is amazing and full of passion! I always admired her work with the Hunger Project. I have thought of her often as we talk about the new and old hungry.

From Me to All panelists and other attendees: (11:56 AM)

Matt suggests The Soul of Money, I like Honest Business and The Seven Laws of Money by Michael Phillips.

From MALINI Rajendran to All panelists and other attendees: (11:57 AM)

it would be interesting to see if time banks can be an additional currency in the future.

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (11:57 AM)

Love Lynne Twist - she changed my work in Integral City - her call by the Achuar people to change the dream of the North ... and that can include the Soul of Money sourced from the North

From Virginia Thomson to All panelists and other attendees: (11:57 AM)

So good to see you hear Matt Robertson. In your parentsā€™ spirits. Wonderful presentation!

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (11:57 AM)

This was lesson I learned on my cancer journey. I had no job, no savings, no insurance (thank God) and people were SO helpful. In fact Iā€™m alive because others cared.

From Veronica Saldias to All panelists and other attendees: (11:58 AM)

Thank you for sharing that @kathryn

From Shelot Masithi to All panelists and other attendees: (11:58 AM)

Thank you @Marylin and @Jude

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (11:58 AM)

@kathryn Brilliant!! So lucky - a learning curve too xxx

From Jane to All panelists and other attendees: (11:59 AM)

Exactly my point Diane. for the most part it is the same in Canada and again. from experience, overall student mental health is deteriorating.

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (11:59 AM)

Oh God if we could just do that!!! only invest in what supports life - the core of the Resilient Values Set. That one thing would make all the difference!!!!

From Me to All panelists and other attendees: (12:00 PM)

This is not the best definition of money, but in some ways, Money is Like Heat. It is generated by activity and radiates away from its possessor.

From MALINI Rajendran to All panelists and other attendees: (12:00 PM)

the equally important question is what do you do with these things after you are done using them.

From Veronica Saldias to All panelists and other attendees: (12:01 PM)

yes!!! I believe that money is part of abundance, and that abundance is my natural state :D

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (12:01 PM)

@Matt love your willingness to try to use products that align with your intentions - have you heard of Karen O'Brien's cChallenge (Change Challenge)? What you are doing is influencing a whole circle of influence you impact. Thanks so much.

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (12:02 PM)

@Jane - yes. If only we could strengthen the view that mental health comes BEFORE anything else. If we don't know ourselves and are able to deal with ourselves, we have no chance of being a healthy part of society. However, there IS a movement in the other direction - young people at least are aware that they need help. So - we can help them :))

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (12:02 PM)

One big learning was that all humans have value BECAUSE they are human and alive. people helped not because of who I was but because I had a need and they cared about another human. very profound and totally dismissed the not worthy stuff. I highly recommend cancer as a teacher!

From Liliane Mavridara to All panelists and other attendees: (12:02 PM)

@Marilyn, yes, and it is part I believe of becoming "citizens" or embodying our responsibility in our citizenship.

Conscious cconsumerism

From MALINI Rajendran to All panelists and other attendees: (12:03 PM)

@matt here's a tip for dry skin. make mixture of 1 part glycerine and 1 part rosewater. put in. bottle and shake thoroughly and apply. will keep your skin from drying for 24 hours.

From Diane Sue to All panelists and other attendees: (12:03 PM)

Yes, love is the glue!

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (12:03 PM)

@Liliane - yes thanks so much - of course I believe that and try to live it in Integral City

From Bruce Schuman to All panelists and other attendees: (12:03 PM)

In Barbara Marx Hubbard's Wheel of Cocreation-- the center point or hub carries the universal energy of love.....

From MALINI Rajendran to All panelists and other attendees: (12:04 PM)

and gratitude to everyone who gives you an opportunity to serve.

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (12:04 PM)

Last section @Matt - brilliant - LOVE!!! The ongoing biggest subject/need/issue is Love xxx

From Diane Sue to All panelists and other attendees: (12:04 PM)

Matt, Raji and Veronica, I appreciate your focus on the very concrete actions that each of us can take and your embodied vision of a different future.

From Kurt Krueger to All panelists and other attendees: (12:04 PM)

Yes, Lynn is AWESOME, She followed that with founding the Pachamama Alliance! Weā€™ve been blessed to present the programs around S. California for over 12 years :)

From Jen Forti to All panelists and other attendees: (12:04 PM)

Beautiful Matt. May we all walk in this world with the same integrity šŸ™šŸ»

From Liliane Mavridara to All panelists and other attendees: (12:05 PM)

@Matt, yes, seeing money in that way is very limiting, creative-less and life-less.

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (12:05 PM)

@Malini waste is a key learning and we are not paying enough attention to that.

From Jane to All panelists and other attendees: (12:05 PM)

Love that Liliane..

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (12:05 PM)

Thank you @Bruce - BMH - the center point or hub carries the universal energy of love.

From Tiffany Stone to All panelists and other attendees: (12:05 PM)

I thought yesterday was the last day. @Malini @Matt Heritage brand has rosewater glycerin. I buy their Rose Water body spray. Itā€™s lovely.

From Bruce Schuman to All panelists and other attendees: (12:05 PM)

@Matt -- if you ever have a little time, I'd like to show this vision to you: http://origin.org/mom/

From Michelle Kidd to All panelists and other attendees: (12:06 PM)

I prefer Energy Exchange to Money. So Many of us have Valuable Skills to offer šŸ’“. Michelle

From Marilyn Hamilton to All panelists and other attendees: (12:06 PM)

Matt, Raji, Veronica, Shelot - if the world has to depend on your vision and Integral intentions we are in great hands/minds/hearts/systems :-) Thanks so much for sharing.

From Paul Coleman to All panelists and other attendees: (12:06 PM)

Money is a tool of abundance. Once we let love and lack of it go, abundance brings it back.

From MALINI Rajendran to All panelists and other attendees: (12:06 PM)

energy exchange is the way to go.

From Me to All panelists and other attendees: (12:06 PM)

From Tiffany Stone to All panelists and other attendees: (12:08 PM)

I just came in...hi @Kathryn

From Diane Skidmore to All panelists and other attendees: (12:08 PM)

@Mitchell - 'as interactive as possible.' Was also thinking - while Humanity rising has a break - we can integrate all these ideas so that there is a package (or something) to hand to our world leaders. something to share worldwide with all the young people and all the poor people and all the 'little' people (like us) who can join together and work for a better world!!!

From Diane Sue to All panelists and other attendees: (12:08 PM)

NestGen sounds like it will be an amazing resource!

oops NextGen

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (12:08 PM)

I love the ideas in Next Gen!

From Michelle Kidd to All panelists and other attendees: (12:09 PM)

šŸ’“ Malini, I cleaned people's houses for a while in exchange for accommodation. We have So much to offer. I've done babysitting etc. These are things people value especially those who are 'time poor.' Michelle

From Kathryn Alexander, MA to All panelists and other attendees: (12:09 PM)
