HR!Day410 - ENDANGERED IV - Humanity and the “Age of the Great Forgetting
- --- Humanity Rising Day 410 - Thursday February 10, 2022 (GoTo Bottom)
The mythologist Michael Meade refers to this time as “The Age of the Great Forgetting.” What have we forgotten? What do we need to remember?
For Humanity, the other species who reside on this planet and for our precious global ecosystems, the serious challenges and the contentiousness and divisions present in our time make very troublesome bedfellows, for each clearly compounds the impact of the other and impedes the discovery and implementation of genuine solutions. As a result, the systems designed to support humanity’s evolution (e.g., healthcare, banking and finance, education, agriculture) are being precariously propped up.
When we take all of this into consideration, including the effort to lull humanity into even greater worship of the Gods of Profit, Consumption and Materialism, it is easy to understand why mythologist and story-teller Michael Meade refers to this time in which we are living as the age of “The Great Forgetting.”
