We taught every student in the school. Never had to have a ‘police’ officer on campus even though it had the biggest Gang in the San Fernando Valley until it was mandated in every school in Los Angeles! Character education brings more peace! One unit was, Create a new game, you have this space and this choice of equipment (different sizes and shapes of balls and scarves, and… They’ve already learned Cooperative games. Then left it in the 70’s… We didn’t have TV for years while bringing our children up. We call it the Idiot Box. No conversations, games, or outside activities if the TV takes over.
