I AM A TEACHER/EDUCATOR: I’ve been extremely blessed with teaching the youth and elders on 5 continents since 1965. From Swimming, Social Studies, Physical Education, Sports Psychology, Peak Performance Practices, and Stress Management and Yoga and Meditation. 43 of those years were in the Ghettos, at the secondary or above level.
ABOUT THE PAY OF TEACHERS: One extremely sad note: after three years of teaching from 1969-72 I was able to take my wife to Europe for three months picking up our brand new BMW in Munich, driving through 13 countries, and shipping it home. I couldn't have done the same thing after teaching in the Secondary level in Los Angeles USD for 43 year! Let's change it...

PHYSICAL EDUCATION is vital, Holistic - We developed The Most Outstanding Middle School Physical Education program in California by focusing on Strengthening Character, Fit for Life, and FUN! We taught every student in the school. Never had to have a ‘police’ officer on campus even though it had the biggest Gang in the San Fernando Valley until it was mandated in every school in Los Angeles! Character education brings more peace! One unit was, Create a new game, you have this space and this choice of equipment (different sizes and shapes of balls and scarves, and… They’ve already learned Cooperative games. My sister worked with inner city (NY) children with learning disabilities as an art therapist and had them each create a patch for a quilt (she needed special approval for them to work with needles) and they loved it and thrived - so proud of their quilt square that added to the whole!
