In a way hierarchical predictive processing (a fundamental multi-scale principle of intelligence/adaptivity) relies on “trust-but-verify” being a viable ‘stance’ on the world, even for systems for which it may seem strange to use agentic frames. Some might say this stretches the meaning of ‘trust’ too far, but I believe this is one of those cases where that which is most important to us is also a “natural kind” in the form of a “cybernetic universality class” with respect to the preconditions for expanded agency/being via functional-synergy, and perhaps part of the “meaning” of meaning (or indicator of sources of value with the potential to transcend particular instances). It may not be going too far to say that “trust is everything”, in that it is part of the very precondition for a thing to be a thing at all (for as long as it can keep thinging)…

Could we begin with thee methods maybe at child level, (children the little seeds of tomorrow), to somehow ease out wrong-doing (and much worse like the egs you give) at a collective level. Such current political behaviour would become unwanted, unacceptable and wholly inappropriate as a kinder, all.inclusive, each supporting the other society ensues.
