Regardless of who is building AI or whether or not we can program compassion into it etc, it is pretty much inevitable that the ultra wealthy who already have a huge amount of control over what goes on on this planet are going to get their hands on it, the most powerful of it, and use it to further their interests which are much different than ours. Also though, agree, I think AI itself would perhaps try to mimic with answers but not really be able to support someone in need (as a coach I worry people will try to listen to an AI answer but that doesn’t really understand the human emotions, or isn’t there for them if they are triggered in some way). It’s interesting to see how AI will affect both therapeutic and the personal development industries.
