I agree they can be compared and areas of commonality may be triangulated upon, but the "literature review" approach only goes so far.

Remote Viewing is done blind to the target, against a specifically chosen target. So spontaneous experiences like dreams are excluded unless the dream is incubated with the intention of describing a specific target. That can be done, but it's not commonly done in practice.

I think what is helpful for learning remote viewing is reverse engineering one’s environment. Using areas of one’s own home and taking a photo, then writing down a description through general shapes colours ambiance etc. to take what is known and putting it into description helps the mind start to think in this way.
