Yes , I feel badly I missed the beginning. I am also a first generation American and my grandfather was also a survivor of Buchenwald concentration camp and heard a number of stories. HIAS the resettlement organization is still active in Jewish Communities all over the US and still as the speaker stated helps immigrants that come to the US from all over the world!

Thank-you so much peppy for sharing your story and making your history known and reminding us all how important it is to understand and know history so that it doesn’t repeat itself. There are those today that are Holocaust deniers string that it never occurred and was made up. All the survivors are dying off so it’s so important to educate the world population about what transpired so it perhaps will never happen again (but it can unfortunately).

On Passover the haggadah says "No Jew shall rest until all slaves are free! That means now when we have more slaves than ever! Please join me to free the slaves today. It is hypocritical to celebrate Passover without doing something now. I am grateful my grandfather survived and escaped Russia before the Holocaust. Otherwise I wouldn't be here.
