What happens when we focus on what we want?
We know the history and how horrible people and our planet have been treated.
We are living NOW, and can create a new reality when we focus upon it. When we want virtues and values to be expressed by others, how do people learn these? DO our schools educate for quality character? Does our society have a 200 year old economic system creating good for all? What can replace it?
Research shows that when the least of us is uplifted/educated/healed, it VASTLY improve all others.

It is true, the health outcomes are definitely worse for blacks. To the credit of Africa, however, I believe it has done fairly well compared to other places as far as Covid is concerned. They definitely did something right.

Is it possible to think of slavery as a way to also rip off working people by giving their allocation of payment for work to the slave owners for “free.” This is in no way a diminishment of the damage to the enslave, but should not those who have been deprived of economic participation in the society be recognized as having been damaged by the practice of slavery.

I keep thinking about the Humanity Rising episode that was the interview with the man that called himself an ex Corporate hit man. The way these corporations and countries get in is insidious -- and I will say, though it is a strong word, evil. It is difficult.

This line of thinking could mean that the families who have benefited from slavery not only owe the decedents of slavery, they also own the rest of society for the benefits they were given by being allowed to divert their ssalary payments from the working class to the enslaved class. And then. on top of that they were able to enlist the people of the slave states to fight for their permission to own slaves. The working people of the confederacy were duped into giving their lives for the benefit of the plantation owners…

This was all overthrown in writing the constitution with it’s Supreme Court that can nullify any laws that don’t serve the benefit of the wealthy.
