...

00:07:59    Stanley Pokras:    This is the AfterChat for Day 435

00:09:44    Leo Jacoby:    ::http://enewspaper.latimes.com/infinity/article_share.aspx?guid=d1e35b29-e028-4acd-bab6-ea690ed7180f::

This is a well written article in my opinion and certainly reflects my views about the rampant spread on misinformation that I believe is very harmful to large groups of people in our country and others world-wide.

00:10:16    Leo Jacoby:    More from my brother Paul: The article is written with an almost historical perspective, a review of a controversial subject after some dust has settled and there has been some time to process what has been going on in the past two years.

There is something about the American spirit and in our history where many people are open to new ideas and new treatments that promise all manner of cures. I see this as part wishful thinking on the part of people who have witnessed others suffer or who experience ailments of one type or another and wish to be free of some condition that is holding them back.

00:14:11    Hyacinth Oesterlin:    The Wise Idiots

00:19:14    Leo Jacoby:    All the above text I posted is by my brother, Paul. I may put his whole text and the LA article he mentions on my othernetworks page for further review.

00:19:59    Shannon McArthur:    Thank you, Leo!

00:26:31    Leo Jacoby:    Jack Healey is an American human rights activist. Called "Mr. Human Rights" by U.S. News and World Report, Healey's focus has been on inspiring the youth to support non-violent activism that would push back oppressive governments and societies.

00:27:34    Leo Jacoby:    ::https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Healey::

00:28:15    Leo Jacoby:    From 1977 until 1981, Healey directed the Peace Corps in Lesotho. During his time as director of the Peace Corps, he was also a presence on morning, afternoon and evening shows such as Oprah, 60 Minutes and Nightline.

After finishing his tour with the Peace Corps, he worked as the director of Amnesty International USA for 12 years.

00:28:50    Leo Jacoby:    1986: A Conspiracy of Hope Tour

This two week tour for human rights included musicians Peter Gabriel, U2, Lou Reed, Joan Baez, Bryan Adams, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, The Police, Jackson Browne, Santana, the Hooters, Third World and Bob Geldof.

Cobb is the author of more than fifty books. In 2014, Cobb was elected to the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

00:32:52    Kevin He/him Canada:    Thanks for everything Stanley, have a great day everyone.

00:44:55    Charles Betterton, BLESSivist & EARTHist:    Yes John Randolph and Jan Price.

00:45:13    Leo Jacoby:    2008: Burma: It Can't Wait Healey partnered with the US Campaign for Burma and Fanista.com to create a revolutionary human rights media advocacy campaign in support of Aung San Suu Kyi and her cause. Over the course of 30 days, the world of actors, artists, musicians, soccer, and others responded to the need to tell the public stories about Burma. This campaign, unlike most non-profit campaigns, addressed Burma and Aung San Suu Kyi through story-telling, veering away from the traditional Public Service Announcement.

50,000 people joined the US Campaign for Burma as a result of this campaign. They continue to be up on YouTube and on the US Campaign for Burma’s website: ::http://uscampaignforburma.org/::
