Food for thought. Amazonia is part of the Global Commons under the stewardship of the modern nation state of Brazil. Based on the fact that a Portuguese explorer “discovered” the (highly-populated) Amazon 500 years ago and based on the discredited Papal Bull called the Doctrine of Discovery, Brazil imagines that it has the right to treat the Amazon howsoever it chooses, no matter the consequences to the rest of the planet and its inhabitants. The Amazon and all other rainforests need to be actively defended by the international community including United Nations forces. The current Pope, Francis, is potentially on the right side of history. He is from South America.

It seems to be quite a moving target. Can you speak about how this might be accomplished with satellite AND the "ground truth" work that might be accomplished with the sort of Marshal Plan endeavors we might begin? thanks

Today, in the Orthodox Christianity is the Day when all water is believed to have special healing properties. River water is blessed by putting silver cross in the water. In churches the blessed and bottled for people to take with them. With Faith, water cleanse people of diseases and homes from evil spirits. Water has memory and intelligence.
