Basia Alexander et al; per my posts in the last few days about what going on in mainstream science, you be HAPPY to know that there is a new understanding in mainstream science of the phenomenon you are talking about AND also re: “how” medicinal plants “speak” to Shamans and others. This new understanding in science is now the field of SYMBOLOGY and it is understanding the “how” of how this work. There is, among them, psychiatrists who are proposing models for how this communication works! It’s exciting!

The science understanding of this is very new, esp. at mainstream institutions. It’s especially difficult because “measure” and “metrics” [the bases of science] are very difficult. HOWEVER, the way the field of SYMBOLOGY originated was from cultural scientists realizing there was a HUGE difference created between (1) the something happened and (2) when a STORY was told about what had happened. Once the STORY was told whole new level of (even measurable) reality was introduced.
