Watching the Trump-Putin Alaskan clown show, Lowell Blum, was reminded of a story Baba MUKTANANDA used to tell.
There was an old tiger who was in such physical decline that he could no longer hunt. “What to do?”. he wondered. “Without food, it will be the end of me.” After much contemplation, he decided to take advantage of the myriad stupid and gullible fools in the universe; the lifeblood of grifters, scammers and conmen everywhere. “I’ll become a Guru and offer initiation to all the tasty creatures that come before me and when they approach to receive diksha, I’ll nab them for my meal.” So, he began chanting, “Om shanti, shanti, shanti.” Soon, a young monkey who happened to be a spiritual seeker, passed by and heard the tiger chanting. “Well, how about that”, the monkey marveled, “that nasty old tiger has become a perfect master.”

I think that Trump and Putin are both manipulative totalitarians but I also think that what Jim says about the post-1989 lost opportunity due to the poor decisions of American leaders is true. It is a way of interpreting the world according to a level of consciousness. Moreover, that level of Consciousness also manifests in today's Israel's conquest of Palestine.
