My son was born on June 1st 1987, 6 weeks early. Our doctor didn’t show up for many hours after we called, sure it was false. He was also sure it could be a caesarian because he was so large and the head had been in the wrong position. But I had massaged every night to get him in the right position and the staff wanted to go ahead before my doctor arrived, he took so long. My wife came from Berkeley, learned Chinese, lived in Taiwan for a while and studied yoga. I saved the placenta for her to drink, had them delay cutting the cord as long as they would allow and rushed him off to the emergency ward, where I follow and cuddled, both my wife and the baby although they made me wear rubber gloves and a face-mask. They lat me sleep in the same room and tend him - less work for them, and brought her aloe vera to drink and swab on herself. We ignored the crap they brought round replace his mother’s milk but eventually my wife was not producing enough. He’s 6’2”, super strong and just had his first child (a girl)
