I think Trump is capitalizing on our inner anxiety about climate change (known by our organism but mostly unconscious.). Giving anxious folks a scapegoat and excuses that they don’t need to change. But those at the top definitely know that climate change is underway. They intend to profit from it short-term, like grabbing resources in the melting Arctic.
