is also happening in Australia.
They are having large fires, not enough water and many homes/structures burning down...

Australia has many Smart programs to fight the fires, including plowing down paths through forests so that the fire does not spread to the trees that were next to it.

Here in Brasil in my area, Chapada Diamantina ..sever drought ! And constant fires...we are dedicating resources for the volunteers that are helping put them off. Praying for rains!!

A number of variables contributed to the first day of fires entering Pac. Pal. / Malibu / St Monica...
Dry conditions and high winds
Hydrants with no water in them, helicopters unable to dump water on night # 1 because of very high winds - 60 - 100 mph -
Panicked residents fleeing their homes/properties/horses... ended up in a gridlock on Hwy 1 & in their panic... they left their vehicles and fled on foot.
This made it impossible for the firetrucks/firemen to get in.
So, they had to hire a bulldozer to move the cars over, -this takes time-
so the fire fighters could get thru, finally...

SHANNON, I saw how they needed those makeshift roads/paths just to get the firetrucks in! And if they were wide enough and the trees on the sides sprayed to wet them down then the fires would not go across the new road. Helicopters came to spray the paths.
