We lived in central america for years and the catholic church and other christian groups are almost always on the side of the wealthy and powerfuland share a deplorable history of abusing the indigenous and never activists or defenders for mother earth . Hard to see them as warriers for the poor and the earth! Encyclicals are published but not much change, in my view
