Jack Strasburg: For those who are into creating a new/alternative/parallel system/model/world/reality I strongly suggest you check out the Sarvodaya Shramadana movement in Sri Lanka founded by Dr. A.T. Ariyaratne. They have created a network of thousands of communities who work together without hierarchy outside the government. The most successful to scale group in doing this I am aware of. Richard Flyer talks a lot about this, has visited Sri Lanka and has done a lot of work towards a parallel world himself and is one of the most successful community builders I have run across.
