Revision as of 04:06, 11 November 2020
11/10/20 We decided to complete Phase 1 now and after that do Phase 2 .
A). Phase 1 : On [People pages], Julie will do the 1st 8 pages until Day 103 and Malini will do the next 8 pages.
- In Source code, we will add the Topic on the Day/Date line
- Add this substitute-tag under the Day/Date line "subst:ChatPeopleDay" (in double squiggly brackets). It inserts template content (a form) into the page.
- Then move the Chats, Videos, Images and Other Resources already on these pages into the "Template" form (in that order, Chat, Video, etc)
B). Phase 2: Make New Day Pages, a page for each day, with everything on it.
- First, finalize the Day Page design and the "HRChat" Template (may need to change its name) for use on new complete Day pages:
- To make a page, this substitute-tag is inserted in new pages: "subst:HRChat" (in double squiggly brackets). (unless its changed - Stan has a template "HR Chat" for the block of day ranges)
- This is one sample showing the Template form to fill in: https://othernetworks.org/HR_135_Chat . Has the chat pasted at bottom so needs to be moved into the right place in the template, like in step 3 of Phase 1 above. This page had only 2 things done: a) paste in chat and b) added the "subst:HRChat" tag. Nothing else.
- Another (1st draft) Sample: https://othernetworks.org/HR83_NextGen_2030_Integral_Actions_for_Everyday_Life This is closer to complete but needs redesigning based on Phase 1 work on PeoplePages to make it look simpler.
- I also used the "HRChat" Template to make a page here for just the chat (HR) so that complete page above would not be so long, not have the chat, just have a link to it on the Day page above. I included another idea to have this "pure chat" page also have the Presenters names in the topic for search value but I think its a bad idea actually and want to just name it like this, "HR 83 Chat" or maybe "HR Day 83 Chat".
- We talked about making it cleaner looking like on Chat People pages. (idea: use a template or just paste source code from People pages, once done in Phase 1 ... have to try it).
- Try a search and see results from both our Phase 1 & 2 work.
- What else or is that enough?
Initial Plan 11/8/20 for Chat & Day Pages
Our goal is to add value and make everything searchable and more easily find-able.
Make (a)Template(s) for these "Day" Pages (pages for an HR Day). They will contain the searchable chats from each day of both Humanity Rising as well as the "after chat" aka ChatPeople chats.
Idea 1:
- Create 1 or 2 templates for the chats. They can be one template to use with either chat type (HR or ChatPeople), choosing which to use. Or make 2 templates if that is more useful, for each chat type.
- This/these would be linked to on the [Humanity Rising Resources] Pages, such as the HR Chat People Pages for each Day ([See Example]) to possibly replace the Chat links that are on Community Magic thus are not searchable.
Idea 2:
- Create Humanity Rising Day Page (Template) to be titled with HR Topic (keywords). Example Page Title: HR130 Charles Eisenstein & Vandana Shiva US Presidential Election 2020 Consequences
- These pages would have meta tags and Categories that match the topic
- They may include HR or Humanity Rising in the title. I recommend we may not need the words 'Chat', nor 'Day' and maybe not even "Humanity Rising" just to shorten the page title for SEO value for people and machine search.
- These pages would include content from that day with links to both types of "chat" pages (see Idea 1 above) and links to the [Humanity Rising Resources] Pages.
- This will also allow us to have a more complete resources on 1 page for the HR/ChatPeople Day for access to not only searchable chats, but also videos and presenters/participants names, websites and emails offered. Perhaps even video transcripts.
All of this adds value that is not duplicating work and resources that can be found on Ubiverse site or YouTube video descriptions.
ChatPeople Pages Include(d) Pre-Phase1:
- ChatPeople - image file(s) of the Zoom Gallery view - to place a face with a name.
- ChatPeople Chat - Text of chat (.txt).
- ChatPeople Video - After chat video.
- Humanity Rising Presenters - image files(s) of the Zoom Gallery view - to place a presenter face with a name.
- Humanity Rising Chat - Text of chat (.rtf)
- HR Q&A - Text of chat (.rtf) (when available)
- Humanity Rising Video on YouTube on Ubiquity University channel.
- Video Start time link - a presenter starts here (a YouTube time-stamp link) (when available).
- [https://ubiverse.org/ Ubiquity University site Resource Link for HR Day with recording (video for logged in members), included Topics, Description, Categories, Participants and Publish Date.
Templates
Template Naming convention :
- Use the regular Template:Name for naming/creating templates which should not be edited within the page, such as those which migrate to everyplace they are used, i.e. regular Templates. Like Stan's block of Day-Range-Links; for example Template:HRChat with tag (Name in double squiggly brackets)
- Use Template:s_Name for naming/creating Templates that substitute the tag (subst:s_Name in double squiggly brackets) in the page, and are removed, replacing the tag with the template contents; for example subst:s_HRChat . This allows you to edit the page content without editing the template.
List of Templates and Descriptions/Uses
- "HR Chat" - inserted into H R Resource Page at top - block of Day-Range-Links. Stan edits this template to add more HR Days. Add "HR Chat" (in double squiggly brackets) which remains in the source code of the page its used in. Its a regular Template:Name.
- "HRChat" (note HRchat won't work - its case sensitive) - Created by Julie to use as a substitute-tag to insert an editable page design into a new HR Day Page or possibly even a new Chat Page (HR or ChatPeople chat page). Delete whats note needed. The template content inserted into the page when using this tag can be edited.
