==Dov grew up in a religious Zionist Jewish community in New York City. The grandson of pogrom survivors and descendant of Jews fleeing European-Christian persecution, Dov is acutely aware of the evils of antisemitism and the critical need for honesty around that history. Also at a young age, Dov identified problems with the one-sided Zionist narrative surrounding him. In response, he spent years studying the roots of Zionism and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including producing a culminating college thesis on the sociopolitical impacts of Zionism and Israeli nationalism on modern Jewish identity.
