The demand of the emerging peace movement on Ukraine is that there must be an immediate ceasefire and initiation of diplomacy to secure the peace. The US and Russia have been antagonists for the past one hundred years. They have had conflicts and they have worked together. They were allies in the Second World War and the US - Russian relationship has shaped the framework of the world ever since. They can and must end this conflict and work out a settlement that enables Europe to return to peace and the two superpowers to work together on climate change and a range of critical issues.

This Summit is being co-sponsored with Code Pink, a feminist grassroots organization working to end U.S. warfare and imperialism, support peace and human rights initiatives, and redirect resources into healthcare, education, green jobs and other life-affirming programs.
