From June 8 - 23, 2023, the Tharaka Cultural Exhibition in Kenya provided an amazing opportunity for honoring, celebrating and safeguarding African cultural heritage for the the benefit of people and the planet. In this session, we will be presenting the details of the exhibition and expound on how we could Revive indigenous and local knowledge for restoration of degraded ecosystem

Tharaka Cultural Exhibition was an opportunity for the local community to reconnect with their indigenous knowledge and practices, analyze the current situation and plan for the future. There was diversity of initiatives including local dances, local food and drinks and demonstration on how they were cooked

One of the main purposes of this activity was for the local communities, especially the young people, to recognize the intrinsic value of traditional cultures and traditional cultural expressions, including their social, cultural, economic, intellectual, commercial and educational values, and appreciate and Promote culture and creativity of the local Tharaka community
