This session focuses on two front line organizations — When We All Vote, founded by Michelle Obama, and Civic Nation, a Coalition of groups seeking to empower voters in areas where voting is under assault.
When We All Vote is on a mission to change the culture around voting and to increase participation in each and every election by working to close the race and age voting gap. Created by Michelle Obama, When We All Vote brings together individuals, institutions, brands, and organizations to register new voters across the country and advance civic education for the entire family and voters of every age to build an informed and engaged electorate for today and generations to come. We empower our supporters and volunteers to take action through voting, advocating for their rights, and holding their elected officials accountable.

Presenters
- Kyle Lierman is the CEO of Civic Nation, a non-profit ecosystem for high impact public education and organizing initiatives including When We All Vote, We The Action, It’s On Us, Made to Save and more. Civic Nation is tackling some of the biggest challenges of our time — strengthening democracy; fostering civic engagement, social justice and voter participation; addressing public health crises; fighting for gender equity; and more. Previously, Kyle was a Senior Associate Director of Public Engagement and Senior Policy Advisor in the Obama White House where he served for over six years.
- Stephanie Young serves as the Executive Director of When We All Vote, a non-partisan voting initiative launched by Michelle Obama in 2018. She has over 15 years of strategic communications and public engagement experience ranging from the Obama White House, political campaigns, House Democratic Leadership and leading television networks, BET and NBC Cable Ent. She has a proven track record of building strong connections and developing creative solutions for issues involving culture, entertainment, justice, politics and activism in the public and private sectors.
