• Dr. Jane Dillon was raised on Long Island New York, experienced the dramatic '60s in San Francisco, and became a qualitative sociologist, independent scientific researcher and social/environmental activist.

• Her comprehensive work examines the effects yoga and the concepts of karma, reincarnation, and meditation have on Americans and provides a new sociological model of the nature, function and consequences of belief.
• Used her new methodology to compare the belief systems of SRF yoga practitioners and current reductionist scientists and found that members of both groups justify their beliefs on the same three warrants, indicating that this model can be applied to any belief system to predict its social implications. Analyzing how groups justify their worldviews, she concludes that all knowledge, scientific and spiritual, is "perspectival" and fundamentally based on belief. Understanding knowledge as belief, the end of "objectivity," creates the possibility to launch a genuine paradigm shift.
• Presented many papers at professional conferences, including two papers at the 1993 Parliament of World Religions in Chicago, where she also filmed a documentary of the ten-day conference, and helped to introduce the SRF publicly to the world. A most important outcome of this conference, documented in her film, is the signing of the Global Ethic by dignitaries of the world's many religions, pledging to live together with shared humanitarian and environmental principles.
