In this session, Byron Belitsos will introduce the 2,000-page The Urantia Book (1955), which has sold over a million copies worldwide in all major languages. We will focus especially on its relevance to current world events and its revisioning of cosmology, theology, earth history, and the life of Jesus. The discussion will consider its depiction of the billions of inhabited planets in the "local universe" and beyond, the ongoing contacts of these local worlds with our planet, and the destiny of the human residents of these inhabited worlds in the afterlife. We will also touch upon how the book's integrative philosophy closely resembles Ken Wilber's integral theory.
Byron Belitsos is a multiple award-winning author and book publisher, and also an editor, activist, and educator. An inaugural member of Ken Wilber's Integral Institute, he is also known as a leading expert on The Urantia Book, having written, spoken, and given workshops worldwide on its teachings, including multiple appearances on Gaiam TV and Coast-to-Coast AM Radio with George Noory. He is most recently author of Truths about Evil, Sin, and the Demonic (2023), the first presentation of its theological teachings to the academic community, and is also author of the award-winning book Your Evolving Soul: The Cosmic Spirituality of the Urantia Revelation (2017). He has also coauthored or edited five previous books about the Urantia Revelation, most recently The Women Who Loved Jesus (2023), The Adventure of Being Human II (2015), Healing a Broken World (2013), and The Adventure of Being Human (2011). He is editor and publisher of the forthcoming academic anthology of essays on The Urantia Book, entitled Reason and Revelation.
