Join us for a week of essential conversations with five activist writers who each offer unique approaches to using writing and other forms of creative expression to make the world better.
Your host, Jennifer Browdy, PhD, is a veteran professor of literature, writing and media arts at Bard College/Simon’s Rock and the global Bard Open Society University Network. She coined the term “purposeful memoir” to describe essential contemplative work for leaders, activists and anyone who wants to make a positive difference in the world. The publisher of Green Fire Press, she is an author coach, editor and co-host of the online writers’ community Birth Your Truest Story. Her award-winning books include: Purposeful Memoir as a Quest for a Thriving Future, The Elemental Journey of Purposeful Memoir, and the memoir What I Forgot ...And Why I Remembered. She publishes two Substack newsletters, Writing to Right the World & The Spirit of Education and leads an annual memoir retreat in Tuscany as well as Riding & Writing trips to Portugal and Iceland. Find out more at http://JenniferBrowdy.com.
Maria Sirois, Psy.D. has spent more than three decades in the boardrooms of business, bedsides of the dying and everywhere in between to do one thing: offer the data, stories, tools and perspectives that enable us to cultivate resilience, health, wisdom and a greater capacity to lead ourselves and others well, no matter the strain or suffering of the moment. As a resilience expert, positive psychologist and international consultant, she is known for her authenticity, wisdom and compassion. She is the author of two books: A Short Course in Happiness After Loss (And Other Dark, Difficult Times) and Every Day Counts. Her third book, The Generous Exchange, a collection essays reflecting on the benefits of appreciation of beauty, goodness and excellence, (including pro-environmental behavior and kindness to others) will be released in 2025.
