Amy Ziff has created America’s first independent, 3rd party cross-category certification program for nontoxic consumer products. With Made Safe, she is harnessing our collective purchasing power to change the marketplace. This revolutionary seal has quickly become a catalyst for making more safe and sustainable products. The MADE SAFE® (Made With Safe IngredientsTM) seal allows consumers to easily purchase safely made products that won’t harm humans, animals, aquatic life or air, water, or soil. This proprietary vetting process makes world-class science affordable for companies of all sizes.

With MADE SAFE, Ziff has built a robust community of people who want products that won’t harm. She has also built an ingredient database with thousands of unique ingredients and consults with companies on ingredient liabilities and product pitfalls leveraging the 360-degree Ecosystem Approach her team has pioneered. Amy is a proven entrepreneur and award-winning brand marketer with a MA in Journalism. She is a Certified Clean Coach and has studied with renowned MDs and NDs.

With GOOD HOUSEKEEPING and Hearst Amy launched the #raisethegreenbar Summit in 2017, a conference designed to inspire corporate innovation. She was on the founding team of Site59, acquired by Travelocity, where she ran a national sales team, wrote and reported on travel as well as founding the company’s award-winning Cause Marketing program. Ziff helped design the first green hotel program in conjunction with the Rainforest Alliance and UNEP. She left to be cofounder & creative director of Jetsetter the groundbreaking aspirational travel website. Throughout her career Amy has been a media resource interviewing with Diane Sawyer, David Muir, Meredith Viera and appearing on shows such as Good Morning America and Nightly News as well as CNN, FOX News, NBC, CBS, CNBC and more. Her data and findings have been used in THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, THE NEW YORK TIMES, THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE, and hundreds of other publications.

Among other achievements Ziff has been named a “Woman to Watch by WELL Insiders and MADE SAFE was awarded “Nonprofit of the Year” at Shiftcon. She serves an advisor to EarthWatch and The Documenting Hope project.

Amy is determined to make the world less toxic. With a genetic predisposition to toxicity and as a Mom to three kids who are sensitive to the world around them she sees the importance of clean living. For fun, they experiment with kitchen chemistry and play outside. Ziff writes regularly about the chemical world we live in and is the Mom Detective columnist for Moms Clean Air Force, EDF.
