Berlin has been my adopted home for four years. I live here with my husband and my dog. Berlin Mitte is such an important constituency for me because it basically depicts Europe in a very small area.

I grew up near Frankfurt am Main and have always had a special interest in economics and politics - which I then studied both in Germany, England and Italy.

During an internship in Brussels in 2010, I was fascinated by the people who came together from all over Europe and worked together on the common European project that should secure freedom, solidarity, equal opportunities and prosperity on our entire continent. Since then, it has been clear to me: I too want to contribute something and take responsibility for our common future.

2016 is the year in which everything changed for me: When the Brexit referendum was positive in the summer and Trump was elected in the autumn, it became clear to me that my self-image of living in a democratic Europe is anything but self-evident and something , for which we have to stand up - that is, democracy as a verb.

A short time later, in spring 2017, I became aware of a group of young Europeans who wanted to found the first pan-European movement and party - they called themselves Volt. I joined directly. First as the EU Reform Policy Lead, then as the first chairman of the Volt Germany party, which I also led through the 2019 European election campaign, in which we were able to achieve over 250,000 votes and thus a European MP.

I have been Co-President of Volt Europe since autumn 2019 and, together with Reinier Van Lanschot and the entire European team, I am preparing our movement for the joint European elections in 2024, to which we will join with at least 25 MEPs from at least 7 countries - that is, parliamentary groups Want to move in the European Parliament.

This year it was time for myself to “step into the ring” and to represent the progressive and European voices in the Bundestag as the top candidate for Volt Berlin and direct candidate for Berlin Mitte.

But we can only tackle the challenges together, as Berlin Mitte, Germany and Europe. Are you in?
