Engineer, Tom Hopkins, discusses two things: how to quickly stop global warming — we do not have much time before we suffer significant tipping points — and how to ramp up the production of clean energy by using the extra heat that is now in the oceans — opening the door to clean and rapid industrialization of undeveloped countries. Tom has had a long career as a Chartered PE (Australia), focussed on creative engineering. in the 1960s, he designed "Australia’s most daring building” in the 1990s he designed an underwater treadmill on which Olympic gold medalists trained. In the 2010s, he developed the world’s most efficient electric motor and now he has designed the Ocean Heat Pump to extract heat (clean energy) to replace fossil fuels (dirty energy).
