https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/570675:: (H2O and the Waters of Forgetfulness: Reflections on the Historicity of "Stuff" by Ivan Illich 1985. In the course of this brilliant essay the author traces the way water has been shorn of its mythic associations and reduced to an urban cleaning fluid. The histories of medicine, art, mythology, architecture, technology, and conceptions of the afterlife come into play as the changing role of water in our lives is revealed.
"This book describes the shift in the symbolic meaning of water through western history. Essentially, water has gone from being a magical substance to, as Ivan Illich describes it, "a man-made cleaning fluid". Much of the book focuses on the changing views towards excretion and body odor because these changing views influenced humanity's relationship to water. Also discussed are historic sources of water for cities and how that shaped the human-water relationship." Apr 27, 2014, jw468)

Comment during HR from Marie-France Lepage to Everyone:

Humanity - yes, the person next to you...well,  not always so easy. One beautiful realization that came to me lately is that what we call Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Artic or by other names oceans and seas, are actually referring to the land basins that temporarily hold the moving, travelling water. Water is One, a beautiful metaphor for our potential as humanity. It takes 1000 years for a drop of water to travel back to the same place. Water is patient. It changes salinity, density, temperature, and depth amongst its extraordinary metamorphoses. It provides Life for countless life forms. Are they aware of water? Are we aware of Gaia's living consciousness that we are breathing and bathing in be it on land, air or water?

Sarah Sue-Belize Carol Sue Engleman on Facebook 11:30 AM:

I grew up on a lake, water skiing every day, and a pool that wrapped around the house. It makes me crave looking at water so my house in  CA is on a lake and I live right on the Caribbean Sea and love looking at the water. Its like a constant meditation.

Mo 11:50 AM (Afterchat):

I will share a story that happened to me years ago but significant to this life...I was in a car wreck that went into a raging  swollen creek  and my fiancé was driving and I had had recent surgery on my feet and had  casts  covering my feet and to my knees.  When I became conscience and realized I was drowning .  I kicked my way out by kicking and having the cast break the window and the water flow took me out of the car and came awake when blackberry bushes along the creek grabbed me and poked  and pricked me to consciousness.  Was able to take a deep breath and that experience imprinted the importance of breath  and SOOOO much more..  My fiancé who was driving the car died and they found his body days later.   I had left mybody and had a death experience...that changed my life as nothing was much the same after the Death and returning back into  body.....I could tell so much more but that was one of my  huge water experience and the date was  11/11.
